I'd really like to know where everyone keeps their tools and toys they use during play.  Do you have a trunk, a drawer, a little sack?  Perhaps a whole cabinet or closet full of whips, costumes, rope, vibes and dildos?

I'm trying to get new ideas for a place to store a toy I have.  I have others living in my home and I can't have it sitting out on a shelf.  It also attracts dust and other junk.  Obviously I wash it regularly but I'd still like to find another place to put it to perhaps help keep it cleaner in between uses.

I use all those and more I have a few suggestions for safe from vanilla eyes, storage where space is limited. My favorite is from any home improvement store get a tall medicine cabinet one with a lock (child proof) the taller the better or two if you have a few toy you want to store at hand. Install behind your bedroom door in the wall between the studs. Cover with a nice mirror or picture instant toy safe LOL Great for vibes dildo and small toys like cuffs. Another is for those hard to store tall toys like buggy whips, canes, and what not. Instead of just leaning them in a corner, make a simple HALLOW stand. At the home improvement store there are cardboard forms for cement pillars get a length as tall as need plus 2 or 3 inches spray paint in choice of your decors colors. Mine is done in a gray faux rock finish. Put a wooden round on top or a small mirror. On your new stand place a ‘treasured’ nick-nack, lamp, or plant. No one will think to look inside to find the real treasures. Another storage idea is to use a roll up make-up bag that can be hung from a hook. You know the kind with little clear pockets made for traveling. It is a great place to put small stuff like clips, clamps, needles, gloves, rubbers, and what not lol. When you need it unroll and hang in convent location. Very handy.

I am fortunate enough to have an entire 20X30 building for My Dungeon play space..so storage isn't much of a problem.  The walls are covered in half pegboard, so it makes it easy to hang and organize all the ropes, cuffs, straps, canes etc.  Most of the floggers whips and clamps (small items) are kept in a rolling cart, that was originally designed for kitchen use. It's black and chrome, so fits into the decor nicely.

I refuse to answer, on the grounds that it may incriminate me your honour....

I have a sports bag, the sort one uses for the gym - which has locking points through the zipper. Once closed, the padlock goes on and no access for UMs, who think its just an old gym bag. When the contents are in use, the padlock comes in handy too. Another good place I found was in a suitcase on top of the wardrobe, for larger bits and pieces. Everyone seems to put their suitcase on top of their wardrobe when its not in use, so assume its empty - mine is locked and out of reach of UMs too. Also makes a good place to hide chrissie pressies!

However, all the storage and hiding places in the world dont help, if something gets forgotten and/or not put away! Over the weekend I had a new bed installed. Under the old one was a box I had quite forgotten about! Luckily it was all sealed up so I got away with that one!

Some are under the bed, most of the floggers hang in the closet except for the two hanging by the bed and the six hanging in the dining room with a few matching zippers, both night stands are full, the violet wand came in it's own suitcase, there is a shoe box holding small stuff, hmm...the eyehooks never leave the archway, there is a full set of chains on Scooter and Jewel's bed and a couple of things laying around the computer room. I think that is it.

We did buy an antique trunk for taking some out with us but we cannot locate any nice storage piece  that will hold it all and match the furniture.

I just happen to have a really nice, quite large antigue trunk. It is not in bad shape but would need some restoring...like the leather straps. It has two layers of storage and I always thought it would make an excellent toy chest.....yours if you guys are interested.

Lol, Erin i REALY REALLY needed another project because you know, running the new electric wire, installing lights, reorganizing the bar, restoring the bagger, grinding tile for a mosaic, painting, putting siding on the garage, repairing the dining room roof  etc.......just is not enough to keep me busy, lmmfao......

Seriously though, thank you, what a nice thought, why not show it to Scooter and Jewel when they pick you up for Halloween ? I appreciate the offer.

I have two decent size rolling suitcases that are padlocked and kept in my closet.  Curiosity may have killed the cat, but explaining the contents to unsuspecting persons may just kill me.

I bought a huge duffelbag with wheels on it because its so damn heavy. When I get my dungeon built in my house then I won't have to stash things away. But right now with the unmentionable running around, yep gotta keep it locked up. Plus it comes in handy when we are going to travel.

She has a duffle bag that our mutual towys are kept in.  It is stored under the bed.  There is a rolling suitecase in our closet that has my "girl things"  in it (shoes,  wigs fake boobs etc) and a hanging bag with my "girl clothes".

My house has kiddos in it so I have to keep it hidden yet I also enforce strict poilicy of what areas in my room they are allowed to access.  A locked trunk would be cool.  What I use is a large undercloset drawer, in that drawer is a carboard box which just barely fits, of where all my goodies are well hidden.  A top closet shelf is a good one,or  under the bed in a storage box,  using a black plastic bag  for inner lining.  A duffle bag is good too, always portable and who wants to look in one of those anyways?

I have a large black toolbox I keep stashed under the table by my bed. Its perfect, it has all sorts of compartments for those little bobs and bits and clips so they stay organized and don't get lost. Anything that doesnt fit in there goes into the closet. So, when people ask me if I am in the closet about BDSM, I say, "Yes, thats where all the fun toys are!"

Edited to add: Why yes, sir, I DO suffer from OCD... why do you ask?

I'm rather quite the collector, so I ended up with a lot of everything.  Why have a gag or two lying about, when you can have 15.  Blindfolds, the same way.  Cats and whips and single-tails, etc., a couple of dozen at least.

Before I moved, which was a while ago, I had a spare bedroom as a playroom.  So I had some BDSM furniture, a platform with cross that a submissive and I made years back.  The toys were hung on the wall with pegboard.

When I moved, I eliminated what I didn't think I needed.  (I would love to have kept the platform and cross, but it wouldn't have been able to be moved as it needed to be, so I broke it down and scrapped it.

My place now, where I live alone, has three bedrooms.  In two of the bedrooms, the closets are used to 'hang' my toys.  Everything has its own hook.  If it can't be hung, it lays across the top.  I have restraints in one large closet, and the pain toys in another closet.  In one of the closets I am able to fit the bondage chair, and in the other I am able to place the horse.  In the same closet with the pain toys I also have a rolling storage area which holds the rope and chain, the clothespins and clamps, dildos and butt plugs, the electrical equipment, the suction devices.  You know, the sundries.

If I play out, I have to choose for whatever the event is what I need for that particular evening.  Paring down the selections is quite the chore.

Jeff

All the smaller toys are wrapped and organized in a tool box that stays in my closet. The spreader bars are lined up by size beside that. The crops are in a holder, placed beside the spearder bars. All the leather is organized and laid out in it's own box. Mainly because the tool box is too small now. I need to go shopping. Thinking of getting a nice hand painted chest. Anyhow i degress.   Ropes are coiled and put in with the leather.

The flogger is hanging on a hook on the back of the bedroom door so that it doesn't ever get tangled.

When i get the chest everything will be organized and laid out in sections.

Oh ya, remote eggs and wired eggs, nipple clamps et al, are all in individual zipper lock baggies so they don't slide around and get mixed up with anything else. And insertables are all individualy wrapped in cloths so they don't get lil fuzzies from the feathers or dust or what not on them.

My collection is still small and for now it all fits in a duffel bag. I also have a cedar chest that I will put to use when the time comes that I need it.
