The shirt I wore to that show has a stain from this funk that one of them "ejaculated" into the crowd that still glows in the dark and that was from about 10 years ago.

 I LOOOVVVEE AKUS!
I have seen her in concert, but at the time she was doing the angst ridden americana folk thing, so this kept it from being as enjoyable as it might have been. I could listen to her sing the phone book. The only two others on this planet I have found with that kind of voice are Emmy Lou Harris, and Suzanne Cox (who sounds so much like Allison I literally can't tell them apart)
If you're into Bluegrass you might recognize another name I've gotten to work with once or twice, The Lewis family. Little Roy is a hoot!

Let's not forget, The Allman Brothers Band,
Mountain,
and some righteous Bluegrass and Blues bands that were touring Georgia and Texas.
Gentry

Never did get to see Allman Bros or Mountain although I'm a big fan. What happened to Mountain...think they only made 2 albums (?) and that first one was killer!

I was in Chicago one year for the fair and they had a whole day of nothing but bluegrass
/swoon
Emmy Lou, the Soggy Bottom Boys, The Anderson Family, Damascus Road, and a couple others that I had never heard of before. All in all, it was a very nice show to see.

Arpig, I had forgotten about Steve Earle lol. I saw him in Texas when he was still doing the fair/beer joint tours lol.

Ohhhhhhhhhh the Mavericks...........DAYUM.........I LOVE to listen to hear them though I never had the pleasure of getting to see them live.

I love concerts but I can rarely seem to afford them these days.  I've seen (that I can remember anyway):

Kelly Clarkson - absolutely horrid... I'm sorry but this girl has no talent.  I have never heard anyone be so off pitch in my life.  She must thank god for today's technology... or she'd never be where she is now!
Billy Ray Cyrus
Brooks & Dunn
Buddy Jewell
Caryolyn Dawn Johnson
Jaime O'Neal
Josh Gracin (who was horrible live)
Keith Urban
Lee Ann Womack (my favorite by far, she was amazing live & I've been dying to see her live again.)

Ah yes, Eric Burden...I kept coming up with Edgar Bergan...which I knew was NOT correct

And BTO...how could I forget them, I have seen them in almost all their variations and solo & semi-reunion incarnations...not the layest though, had to choose between them & Steve Earle....took me about 0.005 seconds to chose

Around 1983-85 in Riverside CA they had what were called US Festivals which were billed as Woodstock for the '80s; organized by Bill Graham with finincial backing by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. I went to both. Saw a lot of bands in the 5 days there (skipped another day that was just heavy metal).

Anyway, some warm up bands I hadn't heard of before, but one impressed me -- they were called U2. I wonder whatever happened to them?

ok, since you asked so nicely -- I was not serious. I just tossed that in because the idea of U2 as a warm up band seems funny now, but once upon a time they were unknown.

In no particular order:

Alabama/Clint Black/Suzy Boggus
Randy Travis (several times)
Madonna
Garth Brooks
Hall and Oates (several times)
several country concerts with multiple artists

Would've loved to have seen:

Journey (with Steve Perry)
Eagles (pre-break up and reunion)
Fleetwood Mac

Do you know the first time I ever heard of them was the year that the Chicago Cubs were in the playoffs for the series ( and got their asses kicked royally ). The last game was on a Sunday, and when they lost, all the stations in Chicago started playing Sunday, Bloody Sunday by U2.
