I am not sure what the problem is, but I was wondering, is it just me, or do others find it incredible rude, disrespectful and just otherwise showing absolutely no class, whenever masters/doms attempt to make contact with owned slaves in a manner that disrespects the slave's current owner. I must be crazy, but any profile that I have come across that a slave states that she is owned, there is always a follow up post about how she is irritated that people keep sending her email stating her master's ignorance... he is a fool... blah blah blah. I am not sure where in the lifestyle that it states that we are conniving little children. If someone states that she is owned, or what not, be respectful... I am sure that this mostly happens with the moron who has just read BDSM 101 (good book by the way) and thinks that this is how you treat all subs/slaves regardless of ownership. I am not sure if anything can be done to stop it on the board, but it would be nice if we could act like humans instead of animals trying to piss on each other's turf.

My 2 cents,

Thaine

HAVE and HAVE-NOTS.

Those who have NOT will try to STEAL from those who HAVE.

Just my take on what I have seen sofar.

then again, some of us simply are sending a compliment, and you should take each person's email at face value :)

now this is something I have seen as well over many years. Many who come online are of the misguided idea that saying they are Dom/me or Master and/or capping Their names (where anybody even understands what its SUPPOSED to mean) that every sub/slave should lay at thier feet and beg for anything and everything reguardless of current Ownership etc.

with the Mask of the online world where A/anybody can be anything its far to easy to deceive and pretend (ok part of the L/s is pretending but you know what I mean here too!) its also simplistic for those pretenders to see something that belongs to Another and simply because it does belong to Another makes it better than anything else and then the drooling pangs of I MUST POSSES WHAT ANOTHER DOES kicks in and bingo instant disrespect. Too many go that route now a days, I dont know it its an influence of the Modern ways, a lack of seeing the Older ways...or just plain greed.

in anycase....online or off...respect is supposed to be part of the L/s and should be.

*looking down from the height of the soap box*..ummm somebody bring the ladder back now please.

Oh I have sent compliments to many subs, but if they are owned I would never make advances on them. I completely respect other individuals relationships, it just seems that it is rampant amongst the dwellers of this board.

HNGs and trolls. Really, it's not a significant percentage of the membership here - I think less than ten percent, but with somewhere around 75000 registered users and more coming in every day, that ten percent is a hefty number. It's a recurring topic on these boards. Mostly, you just gotta remember that every barrel has its dregs.

Anyone can call themselves a Master or a Dom - doesn't make them one. And even among those that *are* you will find the good, the bad and the ugly.

Oh, and it's not limited to online - but it's much more pervasive behind the anonymity of a keyboard and a quickl changed screenname. Welcome to the online world... I'm Brad Pitt. Pleasure to meet you!

How many online Masters does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

10.

1 to tell his slave to take care of it. 3 to tell the Master how he *should* have told his slave to do it. and 6 to tell his slave how they would have told her to do it (and how much bigger their lightbulbs are).

best
Joshua

My answer will double as an effort to popularize my term for the type I have in mind.

"Fantasy Surfers"

And I think the reply that suggested that 10% are not real on CM, would be more correct with an inversion of that ratio.

That is hysterical, how true it is.

Wait until you go to a munch with your Dom. Those who know very well you are with someone. Will hit on you. Usually right in front of him. Or parties even. Anywhere. It is not an online only type of habit these people have.
It is disrespect period.

So, what is proper protocal when sub and Dom are standing side by side. Some alledged Dom comes up and hits on the sub? Or worse yet, asks the sub to play right in front of the Dom?

Wow, now that's a new one for me to consider. One thing I could think of right off the top of my head would be a very cool, if not glacially cold "If ordered to do so by Master, of course I would obey him by playing with you, regardless of how distasteful it would be".
In previous discussions with my girl, we agreed that the most polite way to handle someone hitting on her in general was to politely inform the individual she is owned. Thus far it hasn't come up as those in our circle tend to be more respectful.

Hehe, I'll have to let Doug know about that comment. I'm sure we will use it. I've no clue why I'm so attractive to people. I think it is because I run a group. Sort of some sick conquest to them or something. Anyway, the rudeness gets old. Yet it never goes away.

Hah! That's bloody brilliant. Absolutely beautiful. Many thanks! What a quick witted reply.

Domlets abound no matter where you are.

As for when they hit on me in Rays sight or out of it - generally I was capable of lettuing them know if they crossed a line.

We aren't really that big on collars - so there isn;t a sign online or off that is there for folks. There is a respectful way to approach and a non respectful way to approach.

Depending on my mood and how bad they crossed the line of common courtesy and civility and basic manners would tend to depend if I just let them know either I wasn't on the market, that they should go ask him, or I gave them enough rope to allow them to hang themselves by being a domlet for a period of time before I snapped that rope taut.

Or I'd have fun and make up stuff.

Yanno like start arguing with myself. Develop a twitch. Answer their questions wrong.

So baby you want me to play your strings so you sing?
No I found the fruit too dry.

You a slave? I like you, join my harem of sluts.
That's true - I DO think that dogs see aliens too! When did you notice that?

Or I might start describing an imaginary physical ailment in graphic detail.
Sure, let's play! Just .. well .. you see I have this oozing open wound, so you have to be careful of it, when you see the skin start to pucker or see puss ozzing from it (cuz yanno it seems to do that when Im playing) you will need to stop to mop it up so it doesn't gush out, and don't mind the odor ... my holistic doctor tells me the bacteria are cleansing the wound by letting it fester and the rot will devour the bad spirits which we have to do before we introduce the newest batch of maggots. Oh yeah you might see one of those too, just flick it off and step on it - no need for it to ruin our vibe yanno? So you want to play on the cross or the bench? *blink blink*

I didn't usually get to the equipment part. Hmmm .. wonder *why*?

Ray tells me I am horrid when I get into one of those moods. LOL. But yeah I'd only do it if they were really rude.

I also used to tell obnoxious domlets that I liked to castrate men and bronze their twins to make art forms that showed my utter devotion *fake dreamy sigh* or to complete my chess board pieces - but Ray told me to quit that. I think I was making him wince, LOL.
