JMO, I use to go by the old saying, "Never shit where you eat." You really don't get to know any one well enough in a few hour session, to have them come into your home. Chances are you will not know where they live, or who they live with. Plus, you can easily change email and phone numbers, but your personal residence is not something you can change over night. I would also advise everyone (both Mistress/sub) to always be selective, regardless of where they are serving or being served. Keep in mind what the laws are in your state. If you are operating a prodoming service out of your home and one of your neighbors reports different men coming and going, then you may find all your assets including your home, under investigation. Never leave a paper trail unless you are reporting your income from paying clients to the IRS.

I just wanted to raise an issue that noone did raise what about personal safety???

If you have a private dungeon what insuracne do yuhave a that client doenst turn on you and decide that he paid for somethign and he is goign to take it becasu eyou wouldnt give it to him??

I Did a few Prodomme sessions about a year and a half ago...I needec to earn some dinero for my reconstruction surgery..anyhow what i did was rent dungeon space in a public venue that way all i had to have was my toys...and my clothes and i had built in equipment and a body guard.... I am forever getting repeat calls from what i call my foot fans to make a date for them to "play with" my feet....unfortunately the local dungeon is now closed so there isnt nay place for me to see them.. so I am at an impasse...I would have to either have them come to me (not likely) or me to go to them...then i would have to bring my 6-5 body guard (my buddy who body guards me when I go out)

but i wanted to make mention of the personal security..not all clients understand and hold to the limits that are set up when making an appointment...unfortunately some feel that sex is a part of the session and do not realize that Prodommes arent prostitutes!

The insurance is your biggest skill: your sense of personal safety.

Negotiation is paramount to feeling out this client. I would ask alot of open ended questions, and 90% of the time, the sex statement would come out if they came there with that intention. (And those were few and far between because the conversation on the phone always covered, "And you understand that domination does not include sexual services, correct?")

You're also heavily relying on your personal sense of this individual, both on the phone and in person. I've declined folks appointments in my past when I didn't like the sound of them or had a hinky feeling about them. I'd also turned clients around at the door (stating I had an emergency visit from the landlord) or even after the negotiation (not feeling well, or just came out and told them that I thought they'd be better suited serving someone else.)

All that being said, everyone who worked for me took a class in personal self defense. There was a panic button that went to my alarm company. There were also lethal and non-lethal weapons in strategic locations in the space should something go down. I'm happy to say that not once did they ever need to be employed.

Thanks Pandora, and your absolutley right, I also have an alarm going right to the Co. in my play space, someone said "don't shit where you eat " ..I don't, I play where I live..I think I'm a excellent judge of character,all my Domme's have taken a self defense class, also CPR thru the red cross. there are also 2 tasers placed in the dungeon,just in case, I must be very blessed, because in 12 years of this ,I've never had a problem. I also get a photo of my clients, if they refuse to give me a valid phone # and a picture , they can go elsewhere.my clientele respect my privacy and I assure their discretion as well ..so far so good.

I find this thread very interesting, though not from a professional standpoint... Let's face it, most girls can find a Top to whup them rather easily if they like, so there aren't many markets for a Male ProDom...

I'm more interested in a personal space to play. Any tips ideas or pointers as to where to go, what to use to make a space on a budget???
