RIP Freddie Solomon

We started in pro football at the same time - you the player, me the fan. Peace out, dude.

What a bunch of losers.

Bita,I didn't know that...thanks.Rest In Peace Freddie
Liz,pretty much sums up the desperation that franchise felt back than, doesn't it?
There better be sanctions against Williams and Peyton, otherwise the league has not a leg to stand on the next time they fine a player for a perceived dirty hit...or the next time they discuss their concern with the health of their players vis a vis concussions

The owner wasn't implicated but if he does not can Peyton then he's a douche just like the rest of the team.

ETA: They do not deserve to keep those Super Bowl rings. Asshats.

slvemike4u -> RE: NFL Sob or Jump for Joy (3/7/2012 9:06:00 AM)

Colts release Peyton,Isray breaks down in news conference.

slvemike4u -> RE: NFL Sob or Jump for Joy (3/7/2012 9:09:21 AM)

Peyton vows to continue his career .Peyton has a tough time not breaking down during his talk to the media.
All in all, despite the difficult circumstances the whole thing was handled with class.....in the end Peyton couldn't keep it together,he did break down when he addressed Colt fans...never took any shots at the Colts or ownership.
Class all the way.

slvemike4u -> RE: NFL Sob or Jump for Joy (3/8/2012 8:07:30 PM)

So no one wants to discuss where Peyton might next be throwing his wonderful spirals.
Ya'all must be getting ready, mentally speaking, for the start of baseball season [:)]

Has Peyton Manning made up his mind yet?

Haven't heard yet but looks like Titans are in the lead right now. I would rather see him go to Miami. We're supposed to get the word sometime today but it's getting late in that part of the country, so who knows?

slvemike4u -> RE: NFL Sob or Jump for Joy (3/19/2012 9:29:53 AM)

Let the wailing begin .Tebow time is over,at least in Denver, and providing that the negotiations currently under way do not fall apart.
Peyton Manning has made his decision, and in doing so solved John Elway's biggest problem...to wit: how to get rid of Tebow(Elway, like myself and other clear minded folks)has never bought into the mania attending Mr.Tebow.
Bringing in perhaps the greatest QB to ever play the game neatly takes that burden off of Mr.Elways shoulders .
Where Tebow winds up is anyone's guess, the Broncos now have an actual QB and Tebow has to go...I wonder who will take him(he is a headache in the making for anyone ,he isn't good enough to start and he has that ditzy following that will demand he do so)what Denver gets for him is also going to be interesting,I'm thinking they will be happy to take a second round draft pick and ecstatic if they can get a first(no way on the first ,no one is that stupid)

servantforuse -> RE: NFL Sob or Jump for Joy (3/19/2012 10:58:48 AM)

I think this might be a mistake on the Broncos part. Tebow might not be the answer, but Manning who I believe is going on 37 might not be the answer either. It's not for sure that he can even start next year, or last into the season if he does.

DarkSteven -> RE: NFL Sob or Jump for Joy (3/19/2012 11:12:29 AM)

Crap.

I feel like Tebow did everything asked of him, and just got kicked for it.

Manning is a great QB but won't have more than two years of gas left in him. After that, Denver will be looking for their QB again, like every year since Elway left.

servantforuse -> RE: NFL Sob or Jump for Joy (3/19/2012 11:22:07 AM)

I agree. I think that Denver should have tweeked their offense a little to suit the type of player Tebow is. Elway never liked Tebow and now he will be gone. I think he screwed up.

I have always felt the same way about Peyton. No championships while at UT. One Super Bowl title in 14 years with the Colts. Great quarterback but not worthy of all the hype, IMO. And he's still a big question mark right now.

servantforuse -> RE: NFL Sob or Jump for Joy (3/19/2012 3:01:45 PM)

But Liz, If you've heard it once, you've heard it one hundred times. Peyton Manning is a student of the game.

Three more quality years left in him.By that I mean three more Peyton years, the guy is the best...the neck is fine ,the nerve regeneration worked, his arm stregnth has returned and what he knows about breaking down NFL defenses is just invaluable
Peyton will win another ring.

Yeah, cause he had great Colt teams surrounding him(as demonstrated by their wonderful attempt to gamely carry on in his absence this year)....lol.There should be some sort of NFL test required prior to allowing folks to come here and post.
And if you don't put Peyton as one of the names to the three best QB's to ever play the game...CM saves you the embarrassment and automatically blocks you [:D]

Please see above response
You call yourself a Packer fan....pffft,you know nothing about the game [:-]

Time will tell if this works out for Denver. I'm guessing not..

Likewise. Manning is an exceptional player IF he plays again, but his downside is that he's got perhaps two good years left. He's got too much class to pull a Favre, but I can see him staying past his skills.

Tebow has tremendous unrealized upside.

This can go wrong in so many ways and only right if Tebow flames out.
