ORIGINAL: popeye1250 I just got three e-mails, one from Stephen King, one from Sen. Ted Kennedy another from Sen. John Kerry talking about how we need "Change" in this country and asking me to vote for Democrats in the upcomming election. How are we going to "Change" things in this country by swapping Democrats for Republicans or vice versa every few years? And Kerry has been in politics for some 35 years! Does anyone think he wants to "Change" anything? When he and Michael Dukakis were Lt. Governor/Governor they took the "Massachusetts Miracle" and turned it into the Massachusetts Massacre with jobs and businesses moving out of the state en mass. The only thing that would "Change" under the Democrats are the names on the checks from the Lobbyists on K street in Washington. And how is Ted Kennedy considered a "Progressive?" Is that the name of his insurance company or the status of his alchoholism? Ted Kennedy, after FOURTY FOUR YEARS in a drunken stupor in office is a "progressive" and is going to "change" things? What's he going to "change", from Chivas Regal to Johnny Walker Black? (I ahhhh, ahhhh, ahhhhhh think,.............. Rah, Rah, Rah!") Ted reminds me of one of those "screamers" that you see occaisionally on street corners, brain addled from alchohol yelling at everyone who passes by until the Cops finally "PC" them for 4 hours. Two fucking political DINOSAUERS and now they're for "change?" They call themselves "Progressives?" "Re-gressive" certainly. "Change", ...two dimes and a nickel for a quarter. That will be about the extent of their "change." With only two political partys in office it's like a see-saw, one party is up, then the other and you never "go" anywhere! The e-mails also said we need to send a "wake-up" call to Washington. Oh I fully intend to do that! If it says "R" or "D" behind someone's name they won't be getting my vote! And if there's only "R" or "D" I'll vote for neither! Lou Dobbs of CNN is urging people to vote Independant to send a real wake-up call to Washington! That's what I'll be doing! Now, as for Stephen King, what's that all about? Stephen King is a Democrat? Now THAT'S scary!!!! I thought he was intelligent. Your thoughts please! Edited for punctuation Ya'll should know where I stand politically by now. So... nice post! On the Federal level, only a rare D or R indeed, would get my vote. If I lived in his district in Texas, I would vote for Ron Paul. He ran for President under the Libertarian Party some years back, but is now serving under the Republican party. An interesting note: A while ago, his district had been gerrymandered by Tom DeLay specifically to ensure a GOP victory. The only problem for the GOP (again, because of DeLay) is that they have no Republican candidate on the ballot in this hotly contested race. So there is a real chance for Bob Smither, a Libertarian candidate, to actually win the election this year in that district and become the first Libertarian in Congress!
