ORIGINAL: blendedaffection I would like an explanation of the term submissive. You see I am a married woman and at times I feel submissive to my husband, but at other times I don't. He is the provider and caretaker in our home, but does not make all decisions solely. lol, he says he is the master here, but it is more like a democracy where I retain veto power. You know, he's the pres and I'm congress. So where do he and I fit into the scheme of things? Also, we are polydating a very wonderful person who we are thinking of adding to our family. Where does she fit in? Thanks, Rae To use your words, the ones bolded, think of submission as where one person submits to the ideas and decisions of another. In some areas, you have allowed him to make certain decisions. In other words, you submit to him in those areas. Other areas, you are not (yet) comfortable submitting to him. In most D/s relationships, the shift in authority does move more and more, but it doesn't have to. If and when your submissive feelings grow towards him, then that shift takes place. If not, not. Make sense? Jeff
