Of course, I would not have any respect for them for being so simple minded so it would be who cares moment in my life. I have never heard of the two date thing you described. I have heard of on the third date it is put out or get out but even that I think is more media/entertainment driven then some form of strict rule people go by. To be honest when you wrote about the two date thing it simply sounds like a scam some guys who know sex on the first date is a long shot but try to scam it on a second date might try to get out there. It still comes down to the individual and matching up with an individual both in chemistry and beliefs. I do not think there is a double standard it just that people have issues with somethings and some do not. Whether sex, BDSM, politics, dress codes, and on and on. Sex just happens to be something that brings out the differences and issues maybe more passionately.

I don't see it as a moral question. If the chemistry's there, I act on it, all else being equal. To me, its a practical question.

It's really difficult to change stances when the record remains for everyone to see - maybe you'd better edit it? Certainly, saying "oops - that was knee-jerk and I was wrong" isn't any kind of option. As far as the "double standard" you're talking about - that's differing values. I don't know that I know any men who are repulsed if a girl has sex on a first date AND gets angry if she doesn't on the second date. (Come to think of it, I don't know that I have much respect for anyone who believes either of those "social rules". The only timetable that counts is the one that two (or more) adults agree upon 'cause that's what they want. All of the friends I have with whom this has been a topic of conversation are pretty much of the opinion that she will when she wants to, and anyone who isn't okay with that is a putz.
