Hi
I'd be grateful for any help you can give me. I've recently realised that I am submissive and I am on the verge of embarking on my first relationship. It is very early days with Him and I will not commit to anything until I am 100% sure. Do you have any advice about how to weed out a fake? I'm usually a good judge of character and have really good feelings about him - but I'm very safety conscious and would like to make sure. Is it possible?

It's the same as it would be in a vanilla relationship.

Trust your gut ,and use your common sense, etc., and just be careful and move slowly for a bit, no need to rush. It is the same as with meeting anyone you wish to share a connection with. Good luck to you. *smile

If you are asking about before doing a scene with him , you could ask to watch him with someone else. See how he handles a scene with her , if he seems to check on her comfort levels and stufff.

I dumped this one guy because he went through doors ahead of me and let them slam in my face. No way in hell I would let a guy like that tie me up.

I did all sort of test things to see if he kept his word, like calling when he said he would, watching how he treated waitress's , handled shop clerks.

I think those things tell you alot about someone and how they treat people.

Just go with the flow... like any vanilla relationship, dont put yourself in a situation that you are uncomfortable with, dont forget to communicate and dont be frightened of speaking up and asking questions.

Ive been in this way of life since I was about 14/15 and I still sometimes get taken in, there are times when its hard to spot a fake - so just be yourself, be safe, be confident and enjoy..... and if he is fake, then its a learning curve, but make sure that you come out the other end getting what you want.

You are an intelligent person (I'm inferring this from the fact that you are asking the question at all). Rely on your own instincts. Don't accept anything he (or anyone) says as the truth because you are inexperienced. Think, and if it sounds dodgy, trust that feeling.

Thanks everyone. I was hoping for some magic formula but -why would this be any different to past releationships. There have been some good guys and some bad guys!
