If his coatholder Gov. Rick Perry of Texas looses the Governorship of Texas to Kinky Freidman come election day!
Of course I donated $25 to "K.F.'s" campaign yesterday.
And Kinky has some great ideas on his website.
Can you imagine Bush on Nov 8th?
"Look Rick, I know it's "difficult" but maybe we can have a recount and include some illegal alien votes under the radar screen if you know what I mean."
I'm sure my very good friend Vincente Fox can help us out in that area."
"C'mon Rick, do you think the old "decider" would let you down?"
Well, it is looking to be a close election and the establishment is starting to worry because the Voters are pissed at their piss-poor performance.

President Bush and Governor Perry are none too fond, or so we keep hearing around here. I read an editorial in the H/C that insisted that this election was one of the few where President Bush can't loose ... if the GOP wins, the GOP wins. If not, then President Bush can have a chuckle at the expense of an old rival.

Caitlyn, do you like "KF" or Perry?

Pup and I will be going in for early voting tomorrow or Wednesday.  Neither of us will give the Republicans any kind of support.

I'll be voting for Carole Keeton Strayhorn, another independent candidate.

Don't get too excited just yet though. What is most likely, is that Democrat Chris Bell, Strayhorn and Kinky will split the "we aren't Rick Perry" vote, and Perry will end up winning by twelve to fifteen percent.

The latest Zogby has Perry at 38%, Bell at 22%, Strayhorn at 21%, and Kinky at 11%. Bell and Strayhorn can't seem to get on the same page with the way they attack Perry. In many instances, they contradict each other, with the net result of making Perry look like the 'honest' candidate. Kinky just got killed in the debate.

If nothing else, Perry is a skilled politician. The left should fear him, going forward.

Well, if I lived in Texas I'd vote for Kinky!
He's exactly what they need to shake things up.

I'm not so sure that the majority of Texans want thing shaken up.

There is some history here in Texas, of voters that talk a good game, but don't make it out on election day. In the 2002 election between Perry and Sanchez, several newpapers, namely the San Antonio Express News and The Austin American Statesman, called the race dead even just before election day. Perry ended up beating Sanchez by around 20%. The long and short is that Perry got the roughly 2.6 millin votes he was expecting, but Sanchez came up far short, with a very low turnout from Hispanics outside the RGV.

I would like to see Perry beaten, but don't see that happening. As a matter of fact, I don't think it will be close at all. I think Perry will win by around 20%, perhaps even more. The media outlets that are calling this race very close, are our old friends at the San Antonio Express News and the Austin American Statesman. Governor Perry was very unpopular in my neck of the woods for taking in all the Katrina refugees, and was widely slammed in the Houston Cronicle. Much of that has passed, now that many Houstonians have come to the realization that we made a pretty healthy killing off the Katrina refugees.

Caitlyn....

I've only caught bits and pieces, but what do most of your fellow countrymen /women think-about this upcoming ''land grab'' with regard to the new ''NAFTA'' highway they want to build through Texas?  I've heard a lota Texas folk are mad as hell?

The I-35 people raise a fuss about land grabs. The I-69 people raise a fuss because their land isn't being grabbed.

Yes, many Texans are mad. [;)]
