I know you said a sub standpoint, but since my pet never gets on, you can see if mine helps.

I met angel on here. We started taking after a smartas remark about a journal entry of his. We discussed the ifestyle qite a bit, with no real interest in one anotehr persay. I met him finaly, face to face when 2 frinds of mine decided to renew their vows in his hometown. I had to be there, i was in the bridal party (or whatserved as one, since it was a gay marriage) however I was going to be the only unpartnered one attending. I asked Angel to come with me for the festivities, since I knew he and I got along wel enough to kil an evening talking if nothing else. And being around 40 of my good friends seems a fairly safe meeting grounds. Us clicking as we did was a complete surprise.
Before him, whenever I met someone for the frist time, it was always at either a Starbucks (since tey are always populated) or a restaurant. The net is a fantastic place to meet people, as long as you can go about it safely.

He sent me an email at bondage.com. We lived about 150 miles apart. We emailed for a week, then starting chatting, and moved on to phone. Met after a month when I was down near him. We were LDR for about two years, he moved up here last year when he could transfer.

But LDR can be a pain. Yes you get time off to think about things and talk them over in detail before the next meet but at the same time you don't have anyone to hold you when you're having a bad day, nor can you send them a hot voicemail and know that in a few hours you'll be living that fantasy.

I dated many (meaning interviewed/one date) on another site before meeting my Dom. I was on a relaxed mission. I knew (for some reason) that I would find him, but I was realistic ... "You have to kiss a lot of frogs" ...

I met many great men along the way. I was never a "dater" growing up, as I went from one LTR to enjoying time to myself and girlfriends with much time between the next LTR.

While dating online, I never initiated correspondence - only replied. My Dom was the only date I ever contacted first. It's been almost a year, things are swell - feels old and safe and new and exciting still.
