Well we had a great night last night....tons of kids. I'm spending the week at the home of Scooter, Jewel and twicehappy. They have a huge Victorian home that we decked out to the max. We (and several others who were here) all dressed in costume (thanks twice for helping with hair and makeup.....and the homemade hot cocoa was a lifesaver!). The house WAS spooky and it was fun to watch the kids approach and tentatively decide if they wanted to come through the graveyard and up the stairs. Scooter was standing in the graveyard dressed as the Grim Reaper and I have to tell you that he has perfected MUAHAHAHA....it was even creeping me out. Most of the kids thought he was a robot and would pass by him and walk though the fog of the fog machine to get to the candy. On their way back out, he would go after them which was usually followed by terrified screams and squeals. Some of them caught on before they made it up the stairs and would be so worried about him that I couldn't get them to open their candy bags. The best ones were the one little boy dressed up as a Super Hero who beat feet out of there when he realized the Grim Reaper was coming for him,,,,,as Jewel said,,,,guess he isn't quite a Super Hero yet. And the little guy who was about 4 or 5 who looked at Scooter and said boldly...."I'm not scared of you...I'll beat you up!".....which was followed by a loud "Ahhhhhhhhhh!" when Scooter went toward him. It was also really cool to get so many compliments from the kids and the adults for all of our decorating efforts. We all had a great night. Oh, and leftover candy?....does anyone really mind having a little extra chocolate around???
