I do know that I want it on the small of my back.  I know that I wont regret it, cause I have wanted one for years. 

And thank you singery and popeye for your lovely suggestions, but those are just not my taste.  [:D]

Well I have 15 and my next one will also be part of my native american heritage  It is The Cherokee Seal eventually the hole leg will be sleeved in

I love my tattoos.  Ones a spider, kind of my animal spirit-other, and then I have my kids names written really big accross one shoulder, and a ladybug in a heart just below their names.  The ladybug's was my youngest son's suggestion.  He was about 3 when I got my spider, and when he saw it, he said I should have gotten a ladybug instead.  And, I thought it was a great idea.

The way I see it, sometimes an image just comes to you and you know its the right one.   :)

I am getting my first tattoo in the spring as a memorial to my late Master but it will be something large...I would recommend you get something small like a heart on your ankle...good luck sis

Do you want something fun? Then get your fav cartoon character.

Something serious? A phrase, a kenji character (research it!), a totem likeness, an emblem that has meaning. symbols.com is an excellent place to research the meaning of symbols, but there's also those that related to BDSM...the Ms Pride Flag, the Leather Pride Flag, the triskle, etc.

Something YOU? Design it yourself or have original art done for you.


Google images has oodles and oodles of tat pics. Narrow your search if you decide to go looking. Putting in "tattoo" will produce thousands of results. Putting in "green owl tattoo" doesn't give you any (I checked).

I have one that's a design of a Fire Kitty that I fell in love with at Hot Topic. The shirt didn't fit. I was sad 'cause it's so ME. Now, I have it on my body and I have accessories like a wallet and patches to go with it. It was my first and I love it. Next, I got two kenji symbols on my shoulders. "Master" is on the left and "Fire" is on the right. The newest is a sketch I did of a pendant I have. It can be seen as many different things. The next will probably be of a flower owl that has specific meaning to me.

there are some beautiful tattoo ideas online on various sites, for ideas i also looked at picture books and art. i don't regret a single one of my tatts, i hope that you find something which has positive meaning for you. tattoos can be a very spiritual experience for some :0)

my first tattoo was very special for me, i am Pagan and had been in a situation where someone, (a born again Christian stranger in a bar), forcibly reomved my pentacle from my neck. i determined then that i would have a pentacle tattoo so that i would always  have one on my body. i still love my tattoo, 5 of my six tatts are meaningful to me, the 6th is an abstract that i designed. i am lucky in that as long as i ask nicely Master allows me to have Modifications if He likes the design or the type of piercing.
He recently had me have my nipples pierced which was great, he also had my septum pierced a while ago, my other 9 piercings i asked to be allowed to get and He approved them.

Most important, find an artist who is clean and uses clean tools. Make sure they are a good tattoo artist, not just an artist in general. Do some research. And, as stated above, don't pick any flash. I did for my first two now I am designing a cover up. A pic of my last one is in my profile if you want to take a look.

I am not sure if this is going to work, but after reviewing your profile, and recent posts I would recommend something nature oriented.
