Morrigel -> Favorite BDSM Book, Movie, Art? (11/1/2006 4:38:22 AM)

Hey all!  I am sorry if this thread has been done over and over, I was just trying to think of a subject that might be as fun as the "Childhood Fantasies" thread, and this popped into my mind.

What is your favorite BDSM novel/book/piece of written literature?

What is your favorite movie or play with BDSM or D/S themes?

What is your favorite kinky or BDSM oriented art?

I'll start the ball rolling myself:

Favorite BDSM books:  Anne Rice's Beauty Series, 9 1/2 Weeks

Favorite D/S movies and plays:  The Secretary, The Phantom of the Opera (sad story of a dom who loses his sub to her vanilla boyfriend!  Oh noes!)

Favorite kinky/BDSM art:  Bunny Yeager and Paula Kramer's photography of Bettie Page, the drawings of Robert Crumb and Chris Cooper, paintings by Olivia, photography by Jim Duvall...whew, too many to list.

Book:  Non-fiction is probably either Slavecraft or The Compleat Slave
Book:  Fiction would be The Updated and Extended (5 books) Marketplace series
Movie:  Secretary or Story of O miniseries (I liked it better than the original movie)
Art:  Well, I'm going to have to start a thread quite soon, but I've been a collector for years.  You could say that my home decor is best described as 'Contemporary Brothel'.  I have 30 pieces or so hung (18 originals), another 70 or so wrapped up.  I have originals and prints from Sorayama (probably my favorite BDSM artist), Olivia, Trevor Brown, Doria Cleavenger, and a digital artist who I know who goes by the name Tsubasa (you can see his works periodically in the fetish magazine such as Skin Two and Marquis and Secret).

I like the Kushiel's Legacy series for fiction BDSM. Then again I adore fantasy books about political intrigues. These books basically appealed to everything I love in a novel. *grin*

I always wished they would make a series of books similar to Gor, but where it is a matriach/gynarchy.

Books: Beauty Series (hands down)

Movie: Secretary (Spader is the Dom of my dreams)

Art: I don't know.....I live in rural Arkansas and unless it's mainstream we will not see it. I did see a painting once in my late uncles study that had a girl kneeling by trees. If you looked closely she was chained to a tree by one ankle and a tree branch was also attached to an ankle. She had this very pateinet peaceful look on her face. I liked it.
