Absolutely not. I say so because that was never the motivation for my cutting at least. Mine was about releasing rage against myself rather than against the actual causes of that rage. The resulting pain wasnt pleasant or enjoyable, but the release was.

That's my point.

While all masochists have different ways of finding that pleasureable pain....for some reason I'm thinking that because those types of pain aren't generally seen to as being fun or remotely enjoyable....I don't think that sexual masochism works like what you suggested.

At least for me, I know that the majority of the pain that I find enjoyable isn't self inflicted.  Sexual masochism, finding the sensual and even sexual under/overtones in certain pains is, IMHO much different from your garden variety masochism.

Masochists come in many shapes and forms and there is no such thing,IMHO as a "real" Masochist.

But please, do NOT let that statement fly this thread into yet another debate on "real"..pwease!!!!

There's so much hypocrisy here. Everyone complaining about getting cut with paper - yet how many here think anything of cutting paper? If you think a small nick from a sheet of A4 is bad, ask the A4 how it feels to be torn in half!

I knew you were not being 100% serious, but I think it's a valid point in relation to the OP.

I have never thought of how one would be able to willingly create papercuts on someone else but the sight of dozens of those on my slaves breasts is a bit tintilating.

Chinese handcuffs - bit of a sore point for me Julia (and not even because I use them). There's a company about 10 miles from me that makes the hand and leg cuffs for the chinese, the same ones used in the oppressions against those pesky people who have opinions over there. They're so helpful and skilful to make such wonderful other things too - stuff that wouldnt be out of place in a mediaeval torture chamber. I have a problem with it because of the use these things go to, but also (much less) the cynical debasement of what was the world's leading iron working industry. Anything for a price, you know?

I will say it takes a lot anymore, but this one actually makes my skin hurt thinking about it.
 
I am sure some do it, but I think this is for sure added to my list of hard limits for life.. ouch.
