I agree with LadyOunce, everything depends upon the degree of immersion. I would like to add though that I train all my slaves/subs as puppies at first. I do this because most people have a clue as to how a puppy acts. Thus they can role play the part without too much instruction. Since they are only role playing they generally do not mind having a collar around their neck or being led on a leash. Both key elements to becoming a slave. They also can learn all the basic commands and protocols that are common between a puppy and slave. Such as sit, stay, fetch, staying off the furniture, non-verbal commands, begging, and so forth. Again all these elements are necessary in a slave. The punishments are also less extreme. You can roll up a newspaper, use a ruler or yardstick, cage, chaines, rope, and so forth or just swat them with your hand. Again non are too extreme if you keep them within the limitations that you would use on an actual dog. You can also teach them various things such as where to sleep, lay down, or go when upset and they need a time-out. Where to walk in relationship to you as their master/mistress. I would suggest potty training them though unless you want to be cleaning up after them. Spanks Benji...should not have pooped in your owner's shoe for revenge or left that dropping in a strategically placed location knowing your owner would walk there barefooted in the middle of the night without the light on. We know it was you...no sense denying it by looking around at the "other" dog. We can tell these things by the size and shape of the mess you made. And claiming that "accidents" do happen, won't fly either. The hardest element to learn is speech restrictions. Its natural for someone to want to talk first without asking for permission. And its hard to ask for permission without talking first. After all as a puppy you cannot talk, all you can do is bark, whine, moan, growl, and use a whole bunch of non-verbal communication techniques. But in the use of these non-verbal skills you also learn how to interpret non-verbal communication from your owner. The snap of a finger to get your attention, the pointing to tell you what to do, the wave of the hand or arm, etc. In anycase, allowing the slave/submissive to roleplay being a puppy if done properly will allow then to increase their submissiveness slowly, while incorporating all that they will need to know as a true slave. After all you do not need them to be naked, to be a puppy. Thus if they are shy you can just start off slow by placing a collar around their neck. Then attaching a leash to the collar. Again would not suggest a choker chain collar until trust has been built up. Experience also, since you don't want to kill them by accident. Then you can add elements as their trust and comfort level increases to the level that both parties are comfortable with. After proper training and submersion the transition into a slave is easy. And the transition phase can also lead to further slave training in the areas that slaves and pets differ, thus allowing for future growth if desired. Once their submission as a slave is completed then they can be trained mentally further into just being submissive. And even further into being a switch if that is desired, assuming growth of that individual is desired in the future. To me though training should be started at the pet level, as a puppy since it allows a person who is not familiar with the M/s relationship to slowly incorporate what they already know in a fun way. As their training grows so does their submission. Then one day you are no longer their dominant but their true master and owner.
