The deficit has been cut in half 3 years ahead of schedule.

Bullshit.  They're just fudging the numbers

The deficit sonds high because we are dealing with very big numbers to start with.

No, the deficit sounds high because it is high.

I have no credit card debt, and personal debt being high along with the national debt is a bad bad thing....

A person would have to have a comprehension level of a first grader not to understand that Kerry was directing those statements at Bush

I would suspect there is a lot of truth in this comment, one would have to be a first grader in mentality to not understand that Kerry had misspoken, or intentionally making a big deal over it for political gains... which is sad to see so many people that post here are in that category. Perhaps we should all put food on our children like Bush suggested? Taking Kerry's comments out of context and taking them at face value as the intent behind them would be as silly as  taking Bush's telling Americans to put food meaning he wanted them to literally do that.

I will also say one other thing. In Vietnam most of those who served on the front lines were drafted, uneducated, and minority. In this conflict many that are signing up are doing so to get citizenship and to get opportunities at an education. I think that the reason people are so bent out of shape by this comment is that there is a seed of truth to it, because if there wasn't it would be laughed at like when Bush says something stupid like calling Chinese people Chinesians...

I don't care for Kerry either, but as compared to chimpy he's golden.

I just don't see a former vet making comments of the type suggested by the GOP. And of course it seems plain that taken in context he was talking about the prez, etc. I find it hilarious how they miss the point of the comment.

But as I recall Kerry voted for the war, so I don't have that much invested in this issue. I just think it's interesting that the comment is big news considering it's really just trash talking on both sides.

Chain, that's like saying a broken arm is better than a broken leg!

Isn't that a "flip flop?"

Really, for you guys who aren't from Massachusetts, this guy (Kerry) is a fuckin' BOOB!
He blows with the wind.

<<Isn't that a "flip flop?">>
I thought a flip-flop was a summer shoe, lol.

<<for you guys who aren't from Massachusetts>>
He's an embarassment to the folks from MA, my dad's side of the family is in MA.
