I've traveled all over the US, and was living in the Walnut Creek CA area in the late 80's when I was introduced to the idea of dating from "personals". I met and
''dated" many wonderful ladies on a vanilla basis at that time. I was in my early 30's and working as a union craftsman over a multi county area and it was at this time I became what is now referred to as a "Player". Which meant from the get go I announced to any prospective date that I was not in a "committed relationship" and considered myself unattached until some agreement was made . Sometimes things worked out, sometimes it didn't, and due to my mobility I eventually found myself dating multiple partners.... Man those were the days!!!
By the time Collarme appeared on my horizon, I was newly divorced from a 10 year vanilla marriage, where my wife left me for a student in one of her classes... a butch woman. This as anyone can imagine was hard for a former "player" to take. She was so vanilla! Betty Crocker... I then tried the vanilla dating scene, such as Match and Yahoo, but it was not until I started on CM in 2003 that I eventually wound my way to becoming a happily married Dom. Dating "realtime" from here is no different than any other forum. Be careful, and don't look for an instant commitment, and you should be fine. Beats typing and a staring at a glass screen...
