Master has bought me 2 collars, one is a steel band with a lock, which i will wear when He wishes, the other is an eternity collar, this is the collar which i am to be collared with tomorrow :0) When He checked it He felt that it would not be completely secure and that He will need to use some kind of glue to fix it on more properly, He is considering putting locktite <sp?> into the hinge where the screw fits, but asked me ito find out if anyone has any experience of this issue with an eternity collar and what their Master of Mistress used to fix their collar on. removable lock-tite... so in case of emergancy you can take it off.......

Be careful whit locktite and similar glues if you get it on your skin it will literary melt some of you skin layers stuck to whatever it comes into contact whit, also, if you are to use a colar that can not be removed at all, it must be wide enough so that if your troath should swell for some reason you are not strangeld, also be awere that if ou et it stuck on somthing, acidents can happen, the neck is a sensitive spot and i would not realy recomend fastening somthing around it you can not remove whitout hardvere tools.

If you have an allen wrench you can remove it or if you don't seat the piece all the way down you can turn it with y our fingers. I have one on my sub and he doesn't take it off and I trust him not to do so. But you should have a way to get if off in case of an emergency and your Owner isn't around. Car accident, sickness you never know when one might happen and the collar will need to come off. Just a thought. ~Lashra

Not to mention, I've known quite a few couples who had eternity collars and then found out things weren't so eternal. A collar can be pure diamonds- and still be meaningless and weak.

Wery true, and besides no matter how well it glued or melded on there is always ways to get it of. If you realy want somthing permanent, tatoo a band around the slave`s troath, that at least he or she can not take of.

LOL nephandi, you are correct, there are always ways of removing it, no matter how well it was put in place. About two years after my first master passed away, I had mine cut off finally.

Thankyou for all Y/your replies. Master and i know that noone can predict what will happen in the future, hopefully this relationship will last, He has waited 7 years to decide to collar me. He has chosen a band which is 1 1/2 inches larger than girl's neck, so it is not too tight, and so that He may grab her by it when He wishes. Master does not wish girl to have more tattoos at the moment, He has allowed girl to have 3 this year and says no more until she is over 30, but i do like the idea od a tattooed collar at some stage if it pleases Him.

Having a collar on me that I can't remove isn't really an option for me. I do a lot of martial arts and I'm not always allowed to wear things around my neck. I would just second the suggestions of having a way you can remove it in case of emergancy, like it getting caught on something. I like to wear animal collars facing front so that I can remove it if someone who shouldn't be controlling me attempts to do so.

Consider a car accident, the collar will be cut off by for neck xrays. If you keep an allen wrench in your bag, they can remove it and you can put it back on. It gets expensive if you need more than one xray to see how well your recovery is going. And if you're accustomed to wearing it, you will feel unsettled at the least to be without it after it was cut off.

Hmmm my collar isnt welded or anything... it has a lock yes but the only thing Master needed to do to make my collar non removable was to tell me not to remove it!!! why would I want to anyway!!! Other then that anything truely permanent around someones neck isnt really safe! Magik's slave

Majority of people will not know what it is anyway so they will think your either gothic or just into wearing weird things around your neck ( thats assuming it is a collar like say a dog collar or something like that ) A necklace around your neck with your dom's initial's would suffice in my opinion.

Thanks to the OP for your post. It prompted me to google eternity collars. I have 3 collars none of which are eternity ones. But it works for us. Found some beautiful stainless steel ones. They have a neat locking system that would work for me, should I ever go that route. Think they come with an allen screw, key and things. I think some of them can be worn anywhere, and people would not exactly know what it is. Congrats to you medievalwench 7 yrs is a long time! I wonder how a simply stated question about something concisely asked...becomes a matter of whether what kind of collar is good or not...lol. Besides any collar can be cut off if need be, when it comes down to it. I say to each their own. Congrats again!!! [:)]

I have had to remove it twice in such cases, and both times I wrapped it around my wrist and clasped it on there. Oh and then once he let me go get a facial/massage and said I could remove it for that, also, so it wouldn't get oily, etc. I put it around my wrist then, too. But really, it never comes off unless he says it comes off. There are other times he wants it off for particular activities he enjoys with me, as he does not want to damage it. So a permanent, unremoveable fixture would not work in my case. Congratulations on the receipt of yours :)

i am now happily collared, Master knows i won't remove it unless He wishes me to change it for one of the others He bought me, and just as with my padlocking collars He has the key, (or rather the allen wrench). He said He was considering lock-tite but more as a joke really, as He knows i won't try to take it off and that it is more practical to have it easy for Him to remove it should it be necessary. The ritual was simple and private, which was what we had discussed together previously, He trusts me enough to give me His collar so He knows i am really His and we waited a long time to ensure it was the right time.
