i have to remove mine for work which i hate to do. i still use locktite since the barrell screw works itself lose at times. Even with locktite i can remove it with ease. If you care to make it permanent then some JB weld on the threads will secure it in place. Since the screw is recessed a tad more jb weld over the top and bottom of the screw will do it. At that point the screw will have to be drilled out or the collar cut off. Mistress does keep the allen key in her purse in case of emergencies when we are out. But if you stop and think on it....in an car accident they will not be looking in her purse for a allen wrench.

i'm still getting used to this new collar, wow its heavy, i've had a headache all day from it <lol>.
He did end up using lock-tite because He thinks the screw would come loose too easily by mistake.

I wear an eternity collar also.  I have never had any problems with the screws.  As far as Thorns making sure that it would not come off?  He said:  it will only come off with persmission, and that would be to clean it or knowing that His girl has some shoulder issues and needs some relief from the heaviness of it from time to time.  Viola!  Master ensuring it was not removeable.  Then again, Master's collar does not denote His ownership of me either......sure, it's an outward symbol of His ownership, but that's not where the ownership lies.  <soft smile>

Always a lock and key = )

Of course about a month ago there was a mishap with the police and things got befuddled and blah blah blah.  They ended up cutting the "lock" off and thought it was all sorts of funny.

Um thats kinda a bit stupid to have it that heavy. I think enternity collars that are hard to get off stupid to begin with but having it too heavy is well stupid.

Okay, I'm a complete layperson but you know, this had to be some kind of record...3 stupids in a single post and 2 sentences!

I mean, grammatically it was only slightly flawed but fuck, who cares?!  THREE stupids!

Fucking awesome!  Ring that bell!

Edited because I'm jealous of anyone living in London or, generally, in Ausieland.

My boys collar is not permanent, since he cant wear it in any vanilla context.  When I put it on, there is a lock and key, and he has access to the key (it just sits by the side of the bed) but he is under orders not to remove it until I say he can.  Ive had no problem with permanency.

Well my friend, you've obviously outdone yourself and have much to be proud of.

As for myself, I should defer to your 1000 posts (congratulations btw) as a natural position of your Alpha superiority.

Who am I to question you?!?!

You are awesome!!!

I did not even notice I had a thousand. Yes, yes I am now superior. So be quiet and not only read my words but hear them for I have been here longer and my count is more then double what you have.

i'm used to it now, it was just a temporary glitch because i don't generally wear more than my pentacle necklace and i have a wide neck so have a heavier gauge collar than the usual. i did have to ask Master if i could take it off briefly to  straighten my hair, but that's not a common thing for me, i just didn't want to get it all messy with the dark n lovely gloop. i hated having it off and happily its now back where it belongs. i did get punished for not thinking to do my hair before i was collared though, but happily i can sit down again now <lol>.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Thanks to the OP for your post.  It prompted me to google eternity collars.  I have 3 collars none of which are eternity ones.  But it works for us.  Found some beautiful stainless steel ones.   They have a neat locking system that would work for me, should I ever go that route.  Think they come with an allen screw, key and things.  I think some of them can be worn anywhere, and people would not exactly know what it is.  Congrats to you medievalwench 7 yrs is a long time!

I wonder how a simply stated question about something concisely asked...becomes a matter of whether what kind of collar is good or not...lol.   Besides any collar can be cut off if need be, when it comes down to it.  I say to each their own.  Congrats again!!!

We're giving you more info than was asked for because we have it and you may not have considered it. I know of a slave who had to remove her collar for about two weeks due to medical problems. She was so accustomed to wearing it that without it she couldn't sleep. If it had been cut off and she would never have gotten it back she would have been even more distraught during a time that was already extremely traumatic.

Since you didn't ask about this, we assume that perhaps it never crossed your mind and therefore we gave you additional information to think about to help in making a perfect decision.

The same goes for the people who warn of allergies to the necklace or to the material used to prevent removal. You didn't mention it, so they tried to be helpful by offering information about something you have not thought about.

I agree with several posts my collar was expensive and it didn't even come with a lock for the price. So beleieve me in case of a medical emergency (never had one but *knocks on wood*) I would hope they'd just cut the lock off.

I couldn't wear anything permanant especially if it was heavy because I swim a lot and play a good bit of Dance Dance Revoltuioon and my current collar already is a mild hinderance with swimming and a huge hinderance with DDR unless i tuck it under a shirt (believe me getting popped in the chin with the lock everytime I jump is not fun).

I'm about to have to go without mine for 6 weeks for winter break. I have to have my collar off when I go home before my mother gets any ideas. I don't think she's take too kindly to me:
1. Dating a woman
2. Her being my Domme
3. The fact that my Lady is married...
4. My Lady being 11 years older than me.

So yes no eternity collar for this kitty.
