I have had two occasions recently where I met what I thought were very promising female submissives. It turned out either they weren't female, or they were lying about who they truly were. Great cybersex, and I feel hideous about it because I almost NEVER do cyber scenes or cyber sex. And then the deceptive crap and finding out they are not who they represented themselves to be.
I don't know why it happens so often, but I bemoan it with you.
