when controlling a submissives bladder how long is safe...when does it become unsafe...what are the risks?

all I can tell you, is that a male bladder is larger than a female, and in general it seems men can hold it for much longer than women. Men also seem to have a reflex action, that when they need to pee and cant, somehow it switches on an erection which then seems to help them hold it longer - whether it shuts off the ureter or is just psychological (ie, they now have something else to occupy their minds!) I dont know, but that is what happens in my experience.

As for dangers, I dont know, but the kidneys seem to me to be most likely to be affected. They are drawing off stuff to make urine all the time, and if there is nowhere for it to go then it cant be good for them. Following on from that, I'd guess there would be consequent effects on blood composition which would have affects on the rest of the body. Ultimately, I would guess that urination could no longer be withheld, because the body would switch on the tap automatically to protect itself? Thats the point where danger would be averted I suppose.

It can actually be a danger to your health if someone is forcing you to “hold it”.
 
The most common health risk is that you could develop a urinary tract infection. Infections are serious business. If not treated properly, they can cause damage to your body. Urinary tract infections develop when bacteria collects in urine that has been sitting around in the bladder for awhile. If you are forced repeatedly to “hold it“, it may put you at risk for other serious problems, including over-stretching of the bladder muscles and kidney failure from the bladder pressure.

Perhaps this article will answer your question, I know I found it informative and it had alot to do with why I no longer use forced bladder control or bowel movement with submissives.

Your welcome I hope it helps answer your question so I don't see how there is an universal time that is healthy for such activities.

I agree with nikaa.   Holding your urine in too long could possibly cause an infection, you never know.  Besides that's unsafe.  If your doing a scene, like a kidnap scene or capture where they are held prisoner, then a little urinal cup or catherization is best.  There are other tortures you can do besides making them hold thier urine in.

Keep in mind that an individual's medical history plays the biggest role.  Personally, this is not something that I am willing be subjected to... a hard limit, if you will.

I have to agree with losttreasure about the medical info of each individual, but with that said common sense also says that when one sleeps urine is being held for about a duration of 6-8 hours average, so hence with all other considerations taken into account such as history,intake,age etc I would think around this time frame is acceptable...Tempting

I really can't speak on the (I assume "medical") risks, but...I will say, as a sub, if you make me go beyond what I can absolutely, without question...no debate....go beyond....

If held to long one can get posiond by the boddy`s own waste, but then we are talking days. i have problems whit that part of my body and could not held it for that long and the same for others, usualy one will end up peeing sooner or later anyway, but if one have alot of willpower or some restraint preventing urination is in place it can grow dangerous. i would cheek whit a health care professional before doing somthing like that.

Depending on the amount of fluid consumed would vary the time that a person you are very familiar with could withstand. There are also physical signals that someone has to go and begging to relieve yourself can be ejoyable, a twist on total control. And at some point any person would have to pee with permission or not, which would end with them releasing on themselves, setting the stage for all sorts of fun times and punishments. that said i would feel comfortable with 2 to 6 hours depending on the factors.

You know... that's a very enjoyably evil thought for a Sunday morning.

To the OP - Find out the sub/slave's medical history. A good indication is whether they can sleep through the night without getting up to urinate.

An opposite to this, if you're worried about how long, is to simply assign times that they must go. Perhaps every 4 hours. 6am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm, 10pm - no other times. The fixation on time is delicious to watch. This gives you the control over their urination and puts them into a nice frame of mind.

when you sleep your body function actully slows so your bladder will not fill like it would when awake....and even so many people get up during the night to go anyway....

My experience driving for long distances - I can go for four to five hours without any problem at all, as long as I havent been drinking too much prior to driving. Over that, and I sometimes feel pain in my kidney area and decide to stop.

Having said that, I once left Felixstowe (east coast England) for a trip home of four hours. An hour into the trip, the car broke down and it took 8 more hours to get home, during which I never peed once, on what was a very cold night! Mind you, when I did get home, it was as if I had sprung a leak or something! Must have been well into four minutes I was sat there LOL!

i know personally on those long road trips that after a certain amount of time of holding it(i don't count the hours, that makes it worse) that after i finish peeing my lower stomach hurts. that can't be a good sign methinks.
