My slave and I would like to experience more TPE....he being blindfolded, gagged, bound, etc.

I am not into injuring him....and the anus is a delicate place. I need to have a way for him to let me know that I don't realize that I'm doing it too rough, or that its simply been too long....

What have others used as an alternative to the safe word when one cannot be spoken, and the wrists are bound? Something that I will know for sure is a sign of bad pain, and not good pain?

Some people would say that you should put something loud and rattley, like keys, in his hands. Even though bound, he should be able to muster the movement to 'rattle'.

Also, if you are paying attention, you might be able to pick up discomfort from his body language/movements. Knowing your partner and his tolerations goes a long way.

As to what I 'thought' the question was going to be, if you are into gagging him, then there is no 'bad' time to do so. Depending on what you use, there might be some timing issues with his jaws, but that's why there are different types of gags. Use one on him, then something else later on.

There is actually a similar thread to this running in the "health and safety" section. There are LOTS of good suggestions there, so I suggest you check it out as well.

Here's my two cents:

I just open and close my hands rapidly. That tells him there's something wrong. But even with a gag in, he isn't totally silenced. Three loud grunts could be a signal. Or a dog clicker in his hands or a bell.

To be honest, once you're more familiar with his body language and what are happy gagged sounds, you'll be able to identify something different quite easily.

Use a squeaky toy. He can hold it in his hand or it can be taped to the hand.

You can also use an established sound (such as several rapid 'grunts') to alert if something is wrong.

Or you can have him hold something and drop it. There are a lot of things you can do. As with anything, though, safe words or signs are a good tool but the dominant should also stay alert and check in with the sub. If you think something is off and the sub has not mentioned it, it is perfectly ok for you to take a step back also. Sometimes a sub can be so wrapped up in the scene that he is not aware. Have fun

Taping a squeaky dog toy in their hand has worked for me in the past.

I've also given them foot stomping instructions. That also works in rooms with a large deal of noise or people traffic.

Putting a snap clip or other heavier object in their hand and telling them to drop it if they are in distress (and will drop it when they pass out too.) Be careful that their (or your) bare feet are not in the dropping path though.

How aboout Humming, "Shave and a hair cut, two bits"? Or just humming a certain way? MADAM use to ask me perodically if I was okay, and I would nod my head if possible or hum, "OKAY".
