I will admit to being an election nerd. I love watching the election results coming in and flipping between the various stations until deep into the night. It is one of my favorite evenings every two years. I work nights and I even make sure that my schedule lines up so I have these nights off. I will also probably miss Peter Jennings the most since he passed away.

Now I am sure most people will watch cable stations, a DVD or have social interaction of some kind, but are there anyone else like me?

I think you meant "Highly Intelligent, Devastingly Beautiful ..." - in your description.

I always look forward to her posts, always very informative and well thought out.

Kudos my dear

Unfortunately Peter will not be around this election season.... maybe they have election results where ever he went to though

Edited to add, I was sad when he passed away, I kinda liked him

Yes there are . I'll likely keep the tv on NBC for the most part, but trust me, there will be some channel surfing also.

*a small chuckle at "fair and balanced*

I'm not sure I'd call any station "fair and balanced", for what it's worth. But Fox does have some gorgeous ladies.

I'll fix myself some cheese and crackers and open a bottle of wine.  The funnest part is watching anchors try to hide their elation or despair as the night progresses.  Presidental elections are the most fun but mid-terms are fun too.

Lin,

I too cannot get enough of the election but I take it further that most during the season.   I'm on electoral-vote.com first thing every morning (polling results) weeks in advance, flipping through each news station every chance I get, ears affixed to NPR (swearing at the stereo in the car).  Taking on anyone willing to debate the issues (nicely), physically exhausted by Wed.   I don't appreciate the mud slinging but I do appreciate the chess match and the shear magnitude of the statistics.  Oh well to each there own.  Maybe I need to see a doctor about this, lol. What do you think? -Joe

2004 was really my first exposure to an election, as a person interested in politics. On election night, I watched the coverage with anticpation.

I enjoy following the issues before the election, and usually watch all the debates ... but, if anyone ever tries to make me watch election night coverage again, I'm going directly to the cyanide capsule.

I'll be right there with you in spirit.  I'm going tp try for an early out from work tomorrow.  Otherwise I'll only get the last tidbits after 11:30 EST or so.

I voted!  Now I'm going to finish up a paper, throw the laundry in, and park myself in front of the TV.

For the 2004 election, a bunch of us went to a bar showing CNN and went nuts every time a state went blue.  It was pretty rockin'.

Just got back from voting. A friend pointed out to me that the natinal networks are only doing an hour in prime time so I am stuck surfing the cable very partisan channels. Oh well, there is some high comedy in that which can be fun.

toserve, yup, I like watching the results too!
Both local and National.
I hope they don't have too many screw-ups with the voting machines so we don't have undecided contests.

We've had some problems with the machines down here, but for both Republicans and Democrats; when either tried to vote straight party ticket, the other party was selected. Supposedly it's been corrected, but I still demanded a paper ballot.
