Almost any digital camera does this. The price comes in for the quality of the shots/video, the length of video clip you can take and the rate at which you can take pics.

yeah but digital camera's are in my opinion inferior to movie cams, if your hand shakes even the tiniest bit your shots ruined, They also eat your batterie 100 times quicker than cam corders they also use up memory card space, and the flash on still life's often ruin pictures, and if you don't use flash your picture comes out very very blury.  Also Movie Camera's  hold the imagae on a cd with the new one's now days, or a little movie tape. digital camera's are not usualy that versitial

You just have to check the stats on the format the camera records in. If it records in divx, or any mpeg format it'll be directly uploadable to the computer. You can get ones that record in divx onto tape or dvd.

I'm  not sure about all those effects you listed about digital camera's. We sometimes get a bunch of digital cameras and they vary in quality of picture. Generally cheap ones produce crap results really good ones have better lens and hardware for motion compensation so you don't get those effects as much. a 300 dollar digital camera today takes excellent pictures a 100.00 dollar camera will generally take shit pictures. You have to get one with a good lens primarily. That is the most important aspect beyond megapixels and all that.

mine was 330 when I got it. Of course I didn't buy it for a movie camera.

Hooray! One of my favorite topics.

I would recommend a hard drive camcorder (JVC) for those that want a simple transfer to PC. Remember a good video is about editing and lighting. Digital still cameras make poor videos. Those wanting to make higher quality videos should invest in a 3CCD (three chip) video camera and a simple three light kit with stands.

I'm a little confused.  What's the question here?  Any camcorder that records in divx or mpeg will be uploadable to a computer.

You can even get a video adapter that will allow you to upload from the old-fashioned camcorders (essentially, anything with a composite video cable) if you don't want to buy a new camcorder.
