Every emotion surves a purpose. Some of them we don't understand why, but there is one.

Anger is simply another form of fear. We get angry at or about something that threatens us in some way. Conquering fear is what life is about. Why are we feeling threatened? So there, you have the answer to, "What's the meaning of life?". ;-)

Take a look at "Transforming Fear Into Love"

Anger is simply another form of fear.

This may be true in some instances but it's also possible to be angry without fear being a part of the equation.  For example, I've been sitting home all day waiting for a delivery that was "guaranteed" between 9-10:00.  I'm angry that I've wasted half a day waiting for these folks to grace me with their presence (and my new desk), but there isn't any fear involved.

Pahunkboy, hope you feel better soon.

God gave us anger as an instinct. Fight or flight as we are animals. We hope as humans to control our impulses.

If ya can't outrun that saber toothed tiger, might have a shot by getting real pissed and kicking his oversized feline butt!

Personally, I fear my anger... which is why I generally don't do it.

pahunkboy... anger wasn't some "gift" from God, it's just part of being alive. Anger, in small doses, helps get you through some situations, gives you the intestinal fortitude to say things you wouldn't normally have it in you to say and stiffens your backbone. It's what raises your blood pressure when you feel slighted and in some instances helps an otherwise over-sized foot into a much smaller orafice (the foot in mouth syndrome).

I know I'm going to crucify this quote, but it's something like this... "To become angry is easy, but to become angry to the right degree, at the right person, and for the right reason is not easy"

Anger is a very useful emotion.
Like anything,,tangible or not..too much and it's abuse.
It is much better to be angry than scared.
I know this will sound odd but  I have used my anger
to get me through some very tough times.
I think anger gets a bad rap.
Anger makes you get out of bed in the morning.
I'm for anything that will get people  moving.

Pahunk, yes it does.
Especially at election time when the people in Washington don't LISTEN to the People.

Anger has a purpose.

It allows you to do things that if you sat there and thought about it you wouldn't do it.

If I get angry I doubt anything could deter me from whatever it is I wanted to do.

Mostly just useful in survival type situations like at knife point, in war, etc.... But it is useful, an angry man is more deadly than a non-angry man that is for sure. And if your life depends on action well it is definitely going to help.

Anger is a very important emotion...in fact...despised and misunderstood.

Anger out of control...is another story however..in that case it can become pathological.

Most people despise anger because they haven't "dusted it off...welcomed it in"...instead for the most
part they can't control it or say.."get away you!!!"...or listen deeply what it has to say to them.

These aspects of ourselves have an amazing story to tell.

Go rent the movie Hellboy...and what is talked about.."the blue flame of anger".

New agers are the first in line to demonize anger....mostly because they wish to live in a one-seasoned false world.
