Check it out!  What a terrific idea!

Firstly, a woman for Speaker of the House; then, a party shove to impeach Bush!

spare us the saga. [congress i mean.] tit for tat, takes from te larger good.  castrate his powers and call it a  day. to thief a year of teh publics service is a disservice.

render what bush wieldss as null and void.  how hard is that?

i dont think impeachment is taking the high road.

there is too much real work to be done.   he is now a lame duck.  see ?

No. It's an over-reach. However, what is revealed in the forthcoming hearings may produce some indictments.

oh I have no problem with the powers that be excercising the checks and balances just teh same if it was the shoe on the other foot.

in general this is the 1st step in putting the whole bush experiment behind us.

all the trampling of the constitution, the govt run amuck.

if the other party reosrts to low tactics it is no better for us. no better for the masses.  it is just a different wolf in sheeps clothing.

as they say in missouri,  "show me". bush is no reagan. many that 1st voted him did not realize what they were getting. lets hope no party puts up such a loose cannon as has happened. in time it will come out how many yimes the nuke buttons were almost pushed. It happened when Clinton was in too.

each day is a gift.   in theoery there is plenty to go around and people can share.

but then there is greed - and "morality" in its many forms.

what did bush expect, a parade?

i for one am glad to know the the public hasnt bought into we are soooo a target for a terrorist boogieman.

they complained about the media, but they gladly used the media for there own purposes.

fool me once shame on you. fool me 2700 times....shame on me.

Impeachment might be overkill. There's no reason to not simply wait until after the next two years are over and then drag Shrub, Chinless, and Rummy before a court at that time. Then they wouldn't even enjoy the benefit of executive privileges.

It's a plan!

As much as I would love to see Bush go, it'd be much more ammusing if the Dems passed legislation that cut back on the executive powers, and also pushed through legislation that would help Americans who need it (raise in min wage for one). Put up the Democratic platform, and push forward. Start a congressional investigation into WHY this war went so badly. Investigate Guantanamo, investigate the no bid contracts, get to the bottom of all this mess, and hold those people accountable.

Now this is an interesting idea.  i do not know myself what The Shrub's Executive Priviledges would be after leaving office.  Cheney i can't say either.  Rumsfeld has a defense -- Yanno -- "I was just following orders".  (May or may not be a successful defense and it'd be quite interesting if he lost.)

i'd be very interested to see any links on this matter You have, Sir.  Meantime, where would You expect them to be tried?  At the Hague?  In Afganistan and Iraq?  Here in the U.S.?  What court?  The Federal Court for the D.C.?

All in all i think this is a marvelous idea; but why not appoint a special prosector -- err, persecutor -- in the immediate future?

Now that the euphoria is gone....

I hope the dems do not drop the ball.  so i am cuatiously optimistic.   dont forget- these guys are bought and paid for by corporate interests.

Future Speaker Pelosi (probably) seems to be saying no.

PlayfulOne -> RE: Will Nancy Pelosi impeach Bush? (11/8/2006 1:37:49 PM)

Any impeachment attempt would be a huge mistake.  It would just be more of the same BS and ruin any chance they might have to do anything meaningful.

I don't believe this is true in the case of war crimes or crimes against humanity. Following orders has never been a successful defense. However, claiming you didn't know what your underlings were up to works pretty well, provided they are willing to take the fall for you. Do you think Rummy will take a bullet for Bush?

candystripper -> RE: Will Nancy Pelosi impeach Bush? (11/8/2006 6:34:56 PM)

Loyalty has its perks.  Yes, i think Rumsfield will fall on his sword for The Shrub....the catch is, i don't think it would really solve The Shrub's problems.

i still like the idea of a special prosector -- eer, persecutor.  He he.
