this was originally posted in the bondage gear and apparel section, but General BDSM discussion seems to get alot more traffic, so here goes again...

a little while ago i saw a device online designed to train the foot to extend down to facilitate HIGH heel wearing. As i remember, it looked slightly like a miniature ladder made of welded steel, and used rope to bind the foot to it.

On another forum, a person responded with a comment about having seen a 'similar' device from ancient china whose use regularly resulted in broken bones.

Rest assured i have no intention of breaking anything - i only wish to be able to more easily stand in ballet boots.

In anycase, i've lost the site where i viewed this, and would humbly ask the community if anyone has seen what i'm talking about. If anyone could point me in the right direction, i'd be most grateful.

Ok, ballet shoes are not simply high heels. If I have it right, they really do fit so that you are "en pointe" like in ballet. I've never worn them, though and they may just have you high up on the ball of your feet.

If you aren't familiar with being "en pointe" in ballet, you'll have to start from the beginning. Ballet dancers really are up on the tips of their toes. Do some research on ballet. Ballet shoes are custom formed to your toes by a process that most dancers do themselves.

If the shoes have you on the ball of your foot instead of your toes, you will simply have to practice. A compromise I have seen is that the sub only had to stand in them to talk. This works nicely until your Dom engages you in a conversation. ;-)

Edited to add: check out this article on these kinds of shoes.

thank you very much for the link - it is most informative.

i have worn a pair before, but only for a few minutes, and i never stood in them because it was too uncomfortable - i determined this to be due to my foot's unfamiliarity with being SO extended.

i understand that ballet shoes direct all of ones weight directly down through the toes, and i am perfectly willing to train and endure for the sexy look it imparts. to get there, though, i must let my feet/ankles adapt to being in that extended position to begin with - hence my interest in the device.

submissively,
