I think if a sub tells you you are retarded and unattractive without provocation, she's either vain and spiteful, which will make her the kind of sub a decent Dom would dread, or she's jealous of your situation. Either way, as others have said, take no notice.

There are always going to be people out there who LOVE the chance to be rude to a perfect stranger. Just ignore the messages that aren't worth responding to and remember patience is one of those virtues someone once told me about :)

There are a lot out there that seem to think that being nasty to someone else will make them feel better. Sour grapes, if you cant have a good day, someone else should have to suffer along with you. Things like that you should never mind. The only insults you should ever mind are the ones coming from friends, since tey have an emotional investment in what they are saying. Anyone else, tell them to blow it out their orifice of choice.

Hmmm.... join a book club or something, or a group for young mothers etc. There's tonnes of things you can do thats fun and will get you enjoying yourself.
