Ever seen that movie Taxi?  Well there is that cop in there that only drives like a pro unless he's singing and the music is roaring.  I 'm just like that...hehe.

candystripper -> RE: Driver Conduct (11/10/2006 8:26:46 AM)

Not only do i mutli-task (but not cell) but i drive erractically.  This is aggravated by all the other drivers here.

Things that exasperate my bad driving are:

1. getting lost.

2.  passengers talking.

3. snow.

4. freeway driving.

5. being the passenger (back seat driving).

Nonetheless, i manage to avoid accidents.  Remember the old saying "Gawd looks after fools and children"?

LaTigresse -> RE: Driver Conduct (11/10/2006 9:05:11 AM)

I chose the 10 and 2 option even though the new, safest, hand position is 4 and 8 due to air bags. The only thing I sometimes do when I drive is listen to the radio or CD player. I drive ALOT, minimum of 100 miles a day during the week, sometimes more on the weekend. I never eat in the car, I am not a smoker, only on long road trips will I take a bottle of water.

I just have this weird thing about wanting to live for another 60 or more years.

Mikal -> RE: Driver Conduct (11/10/2006 10:22:13 AM)

None of the choices really applies to me... I tend to drive with my right hand on the 12, my left somewhere around 9 (with my elbow resting on the window). But only if I'm passive... otherwise, I'm more of a 4 & 8. I always have the radio/cd on.

JerseyKrissi72 -> RE: Driver Conduct (11/10/2006 12:17:32 PM)

I don't drive..[:(] it sucks taking public transportation sometimes

Arpig -> RE: Driver Conduct (11/10/2006 3:25:01 PM)

None apply to me really. I never use a cell, my driving isn't erratic, but I have been told it is scary (I don't see how, but then again I'm not the passenger)

thisishis -> RE: Driver Conduct (11/10/2006 6:24:39 PM)

i'm left handed. i drive with my hands on 11 and 4.
i'm usually sipping a hot cup of coffee, perked at home, and in my no-spill travel cup.
If i'm driving with my Master, i tend to drive slower and either quietly or sharing conversation with Him.
If i'm driving a solo trip ... i'm a little tiny bit heavier on the gas and cussing at other drivers like they can really hear me.

Living in an extremely rural area has its advantages and disadvantages.  The disadvantage means driving every where......I drove 56k miles last year.

I'd say I'm a very organized driver that drives both fast and slow depending upon the timing and circumstance. But prolly more often times I'm driving fast. And I like Mp3's or talk radio

With that said, I really don't like to drive. And when I'm with a lady.....I let her do all the driving ; }

deadlylover -> RE: Driver Conduct (11/10/2006 7:41:49 PM)

I did not start driving until I was 18 (I got my liscense then) for various reasons. I've always been around lead foot drivers and those with road rage, even when I was young, so I suppose you can say my tendency to go a little over the speed limit and to cuss at drivers like they can hear me comes from that. Of course, I also know when to obey the law and watch what I am doing and what I say. This usually only happens in the town my college is located in, which is about a 15 minute drive or so from my own town. It also happens on the highway stretch heading up there.

I live in a small town so speed limits can easily be broken and nothing will be done if it is within an acceptable range, being 5 mph's over, it's a town cop, and they know you (or you are connected to a well-known family). When I say small I mean a town of less than 1500 people, and for my state, that is fairly small. There are smaller ones but they usually don't have their own PD.

I drive with my radio on most all of the time, I talk on the phone sometimes, and I have also mastered driving with my knee while putting my hair back up when it falls out of the bun I wear it in. No wrecks so far in my couple of years and I've only been pulled over once and was issued a warning because the person in front of me did not know how to drive one speed limit and so I was made out to be the one in the wrong. I hope I keep doing well. I really don't think I could ever handle a ticket or a wreck. =|

One handed and relaxed kind of driver unless its rush hour. Type of driver who watches a broad drivin almost hit a kid walkin while shes got a cell phone glued to her ear, shakin My head thinkin theyres another dipshit who needs it nail-gunned to theyre head. If stopped at a light I might glance over to a lady wonderin if shes a subbie, and thinkin to Myself why is she smiling.. must have that vibratin egg up her ass turned on high...

What's a "snow ninny"?  [&:]

I used to like driving more years ago...
maybe because there was less traffic, etc...
the county has grown in leaps and bounds and there's not much country rural driving in my daily/weekly driving like there was before.

For the most part, I would rather let someone else drive, unless I am uncomfortable w/ their driving habits, then let me drive please!  LOL!

Rumtiger -> RE: Driver Conduct (11/13/2006 8:49:09 PM)

I live in Vegas and I'm still alive. Nuff said.

Majik -> RE: Driver Conduct (11/17/2006 8:38:22 AM)

Usually drive with two hands on the steering wheel. I do always have a bottle of water with me but tend to drink from it only at lights and stop signs. I do play the radio but not so loud as you can hear it a block away. I also have a handsfree headset for my cell so if  I get a call coming in I can talk but still have use of both hands for my steering wheel. If I just have to make a call I pull over. Oklahoma drivers are some of the worst drivers i've ever come across...you have to stay frosty to arrive alive.;)

Edited because my brain works faster than my hands and half of this didn't make a lick of sense.

LaTigresse -> RE: Driver Conduct (11/17/2006 8:44:05 AM)

Be careful all of you please. I saw a really terrible accident on my way to work this morning. Whomever was in the car did not survive.

Actually I believe that most of them are driving those huge SUV's or cars because the hubby bought it for her or they believe that size equals safety. Either way when I see a person of either gender who has to look THRU the steering wheel to see, I kinda cringe and get away from them.
