I am with Lorelei on this one - whatever accent Dylan Moran has.  Is there an accent called dishevelled drunk chainsmoking cute Irishman?

mnottertail -> RE: Cutest Brit accent? (11/13/2006 6:26:57 AM)

This is going to be worth investigation

MrrPete -> RE: Cutest Brit accent? (11/13/2006 7:12:55 AM)

Since my ancesdtors hail from Kilmarnock, Scotland I have to go with lowland Scotts. ala Sean Connery.

My ex-sub could listen to him read the New York phone books.

Follow that with Maureen O'Hara's Irish in the "Quiet Man"

I spent 10 days in Scotland about 5 years ago. Glaswegians [from Glasgow] speak an
accent all their own and is much harder to understand to the untrained ear but fun to
isten to.

That accent is what we here in Ireland call an Oirish accent.... one put on in American films. To be sure to be sure, t'would be true to be saying that we don't really be saying "begorrah" over here at all at all. [;)]

As for Dylan... he comes from Co Meath so he qualifies as an Irish accent and not a Brit.

I think I'd vote for a soft Scottish accent as cutest Brit accent.

After extensive research, I can only conclude that the sexiest ( & happiest) accent heard in Britain this weekend was Argentinian. [:D]

You forgot RP.

The accent of Jeremy Irons and GRHS Tony Jay, that clear, crisp, bbc voice. And yes my dear, that is exactly the voice I employ

So, whats the cutest Brit accent in your opinion?

I've always been partial to Miss Moneypenny's accent in the Bond films with Roger Moore. lol

I need the option to choose more then one. Accents anywhere = weak knees.

do you like the accent that Nicholaus Cage/Cameron Poe used in Con Air? that's me if you feed me some Jack

LadyJulieAnn -> RE: Cutest Brit accent? (11/16/2006 5:08:18 PM)

My boy is going to kill me.  He's from Liverpool, but I voted for Leeds and North East.  [:)]  I LOVE his accent though.  I generally prefer the Northern accents overall, and anything besides the typical BBC accent turns me on.

i used to have quite a 'thing' for saaaaf laandaaan, but now give me a nice, neutral accent or a deep scottish one and i'm a happy, happy girl.

Not sure about cutest but Londoners get my vote for loudest accent in the world. I've lost count of the number of times I've been abroad and feeling far from home when a booming London voice has filled the air with "what d'you mean there's no facking chips?!" from about 5 miles away.

Cutest = North East English girls i.e. the proper North East - Durham, Sunderland, Newcastle, Northumberland.

South Wales girls also worth a mention as are South Scottish girls but some of the Scottish accents are harsh, particularly Glasgow and Dundee, and it doesn't help when you can't understand a word they're saying.

Irish girls [:)] although I think they'd be more than slightly disappointed with being described as Brits.

Aileen68 -> RE: Cutest Brit accent? (11/18/2006 1:06:31 PM)

Whichever one Hugh Grant speaks in...that's the one I vote for.

agirl -> RE: Cutest Brit accent? (11/18/2006 1:15:31 PM)

Yerp. Me too. I'm not sure which I find the nicest. I like lots of them if the english is spoken properly. I find * innit* and *dunnit* unattractive in any accent....lol

Brummy is probably the one I like the least though.

British people have accents?

Dragonskiss72 -> RE: Cutest Brit accent? (12/21/2006 3:45:14 AM)

um there's a bit of a difference between Edinburgh & Glasgow accent but both of those would be in your lowland catergory would they not?

Anyway, I vote Fife [:D]

yourMissTress -> RE: Cutest Brit accent? (12/21/2006 9:15:47 AM)

My girl, apb, was born in Birmingham.  She has the sexiest accent I have ever heard.  It was the very first time that an accent turned me on!  And endless hours of entertainment as well.

A Welsh friend of mine would also be more than slightly disappointed with being called a Brit....
