You're constantly making the inference that because something exists, every male on earth must support it.  You don't think people make negative remarks in the Gorean forum?  If you don't want a Gorean forum on Collarme, take it up with ModOne (who happens to be female).  But maybe it's more cathartic to blame males for everything.

I could use "clueless idiot", if you prefer.  Despite the cavil, the general irony still stands:  we have one thread on this forum at present about female supremacy, and an entire forum about male supremacy.  Why is male supremacy so incredibly ok that it deserves an entire forum, but female supremacy so incredibly NOT ok that it needs to be rudely and abrasively shouted down if someone even mentions the words?

Actually, the person who wants to censor other people's ability to discuss their fantasies here is YOU, not me.  If YOU have a problem about supremacist fantasies in BDSM which involve either gender, YOU need to eliminate the Gor forum.

That's not my job; I'm a live-and-let-wank kinda gal.    And I'm not threatened by male supremacist fantasies. John Norman is a truly obnoxious man in person, but his books don't offend me; I just find them humorous, and occasionally erotic or entertaining.  And Goreans don't offend me either, so long as they never forget that this isn't Gor and not every woman they meet can be assumed to be a "kajira", no matter what Johnny wrote in Book Three, page 103, paragraph 4.

Actually, the Gor forum is okay.  They have the right idea.  It's when it's about women being superiour, I have my issues.  I mean, who will cook me dinner?

I dont know if women are superior morally and ethically but biolgically, intellectually, sexually and emotionally they are superior.

I appreciate your post in that it provides the criteria for assigning superiority and explains the intellectual basis of your position, which allows intelligent discussion.

I see the question at hand to be whether one sex is superoir to another and whether one sex should be given a second-class role to the other. I don't think your argument makes a case towards this question.

Some points you make seem to have basis (biological resilience). Several do not really convey a point about superiority (eg. hairloss). Some seem incidental (eg. suicide rate--is it caused by biology, or culture and circumstances?). And your arguments seems unobjective because it only covers one half of the story about relative advantages.

Even the points that have basis (biological resilience) don't demonstrate to me superiority that justifies reducing males to second-class status. If you have further thoughts about why that should be the case, I welcome hearing them.

Cheers,

Sea

Yes I am offended by women being treated as a lower status citizens. I am offended by men being treated as lower status citizens. I find it as distasteful and as ugly as racism or gay bashing. I do not believe in the supremacy of either gender. As far as I am concerned both genders should have the same equal rights and freedoms.

Thanks for the response. I agree with your words above. And, like Benji, I think your dynamic is fine as is that of a couple that chooses inequality in their dynamic. It is the universal application of one's dynamic with which I disagree.

Incidentally, I made mention of condescending attitudes in my prior post written in response to your post. That mention was in the context of the thread and not your post--I do not suggest that you showed a condescending stance.

Jumping up and down and yelling every time someone tries to speak is a fairly unsubtle way of silencing them.  And really, I'm wondering--if supremacist ideas in general are a problem, then why aren't you over trumpeting in the Gor forum?  Your work is really cut out for ya with those folks; if you really aren't a sexist and you actually DO believe in equality, you have one of two choices:  either encourage and nurture Female Supremacy until there is a roughly equal balance between the two, or hustle your butt over to the Gor forum and start leveling the playing field from their end.

Don't worry--when your Crusade is complete and you've convinced those bad ol' Goreans how wrong and bad all their ideas and turn-ons are, we'll still be waiting for ya.

Regardless, my problem is not that Gor is allowed to have a place on this site--it's that Gor not only has a place, but a place of honor, while we can't have a single thread about a female gender superior view without you XY types showing up to piss on the parade.

--M

P.S.  By the way, I'm betting you don't know this, but--African elephants are a female dominant species.  Might want to change your profile pic.

I expect that Gorean posts espousing male supremacy in the general forums or even the male dominant forum would receive responses similar to this thread. I expect that the Gor forum was created to prevent many acrimonious discussions ;-) Another reason might be that Gor has a large enough following.

I think many people here would be fine with female supremacy amongst those who wish to live it. However, some female supremacists suggest general superiority, which is what raises the disagreements. If they could present their views without confusing supremacy with superiority, not assigning their views about superiority to the population in general, or provide intellectual basis for their position, I think it would make for a better discussion.

Sea

I agree that there is no danger is society changing to have women enslave all men. I respond to this thread for an intellectual exchange. Ambitious, yes ;-)

I disagree with female superiority--which seems to be the basis given for female supremacy in society at large--because the idea does not convince me intellectually, and I see it similar to claiming superiority based on race and the like.

I will however add that for a few reasons I feel that our society--at least that in America--is headed for times where women will achieve greater prominence in society relative to men at that time. My biggest reason to feel so is the inequal rates we are beginning to see for seeking education.

I think a good portion of the behavior seen in the respective sexes stems from cultural and sociological reasons rather than biological reasons. I also think it is interesting to think about how the roles of the two sexes are beginning to morph together and blur, and how they will continue to change with time.

Cheers,
