the movie was fun watching and in a very indirect and far off way people can relate to their state of affairs in the US....however to me, personally it reminded me more of Pinochet's Chile in terms of silence of society, and how there was a veneer that everything was great and improving, when underneath there were signs that it wasn't so. In a way it reminded me of that novel "1984", although with different plot...I also disliked the view of destroying the Parliament building. What will the sequel be? a democracy turned "rule of the mobs and masses" revolutionary style turning more autocratic? I dunno. Good effects, but was not as good as I expected it to be.

Yes....Pinochet's Chile is a much better parallel. But isn't it strange how the ''proles'' in the movie seem to be much more intelligent and self-aware than that of reality [;)]

UtopianRanger lol.....it depends though....the 'proles' in the movie took a while to wake up....the policeman starts by doubting his leader, but his helper is reluctant in even questioning that the government could be doing bad things or be acting with other hidden intentions...but yes it did happen faster, and true....they become self aware all of a sudden, hehehe....the prime minister's (dictator) his own "supporters" betrayed him in the end...lol

There were things I liked about the film, but those were mainly things I liked about the book. The ending was complete trash ... I actually think if they'd stuck the original ending on the film it wouldn't have been half-bad.

A sequal, which will be completely free of Moore's influence, will be nothing but complete and total trash. Anyway, folks ought to read closer: "Posted: Saturday April 1st, 2006".

Happy belated April Fools Day!

Check out these lunatics:

It’s working.

We are making good use of the powerful concept of en masse activist resistance used in the movie, “V for Vendetta.”

“V” is helping us as we build support for the unalienable Right to a Response from Government to our Petitions for Redress of Grievances regarding the Government’s violation of the war powers, tax, privacy and money clauses of the Constitution.

“V” is helping us as we educate the public about the First Amendment’s guarantee of our Right to Petition Government for Redress of Grievances.

On November 6, 2006, a lone man in a “V” mask and clothing visited security checkpoints at the White House, the main Treasury Building, the Department of Justice and the Capitol, to deliver a letter and the Petitions for Redress.....The letter informed the leaders of the Executive and Legislative branches of the federal government that up to 100 people in “V” masks and clothing would gather in silent vigil at those locations on November 14th to await a response to the Petitions for Redress.

And they have pictures too! [sm=biggrin.gif]
