ORIGINAL: LittleMissSub Spitfire...i was in an offshoot of real estate...storage...great industry, great product...build it, pay for it...collect $$ at prices /sqft that you wouldn't get on any residencial or commercial space in north america besides maybe manhatten and a few others. it's a new enough industry that companies are still small enough that if you're really good at what you do, you can get up there pretty quickly. the reason that you're so aggressive in your job if you're going door to door, is because you HAVE to be. don't feel you need to take any flac for that. but i don't know how long you'll be able to keep that up. it's a high stress job with little pay back. if you're good at selling people (i'm one of those too, i can sell ice to eskimos) then there are jobs that are less demanding, pay more, and might give you more job satisfaction. selling is good in that if you're passionate about the product and really believe in it and can sell reasonably, you'll probably get hired. but if you like what you do, by all means...keep going. just don't get suckered into one of those scams where you go door to door, then become a leader, and then a manager, gradually doing less selling, and more hiring of sellers and then if you're REALLY good you'll open your own office and business! wow...look at that guy, he did it and he's 24! owns this car and goes here and here.....no matter how great it sounds, it's a scam. i suppose there is money to be made, but you have to be pretty ruthless to do it. I'm good at what I do and have done sales for quite sometime. I agree being aggressive is part of the job, and I am quite aggressive for a woman. So yes I agree I shouldn't get flack for that. I'm in a reputable business with stablitity and I can probably get pretty much any job once I'm done working with this company. So things are well in that department but I agree many are ruthless to get to the top. I am competitive but I keep my integrity and morals in tact. Thanks for the advice. You seem to know the business world well. Would love to hear any other input you may have in other facets.
