ORIGINAL: sissifytoserve Its too obvious the health care system favors women over men. Are... you... kidding... me? When a guy goes to the doctor for whatever bloody reason, Doc's think "humm, he wouldnt be whining if there wasnt something to whine about, better safe than sorry and order up that bloodwork." Just in case, because you never know. Woman walks into the same doctors office, complaing of something saaaay, a welt or sore on her breast. The doc rolls his eyes, pokes at her breast for a few minutes, and says "eh, theres no lump, you must be perfectly fine." Yes I'm a tad biased right now, as I had that particular conversation with my own doctor yesterday. I went in with red, hot swollen welts (that were not hives or insect bites), that were causing me immense pain. My family has a huge history of breast cancer, with a damn high fatality rate. And yet with all that, I literally had to threaten him to get an x-ray done. Where, by the way they did end up finding something. I am not a hypochondriac, I happen to despise most doctors, and avoid them at all costs. Its not like he had seen me 15 times in the past month. I came in with a legitimate reason to be concerned, and was treated like a damn four year old. A friend (male) of mine sees the same doctor. He went in simply to get a health clearance for a job, and had a bit of a sore throat. Doc immediately does a throat swab, orders bloodwork, and reminds him that if he gets worse at any time to hurry back. I realize this isn't the case with every doctor everywhere. I'd like to say the system isn't biased one way or another, although thats a fat load of it. In my opinion, doctors are much more likely to take guys seriously, and order up that extra round of testing, simply because guys are less likely to go to the doctor overall. Seriously, you must be joking sissify. For a start, that is absolute crap and as for the similar things other women said in here. I go to the doctor when I have little things wrong with me. Just because I am a man it doesn't mean I avoid the doctor or help from anyone. Sounds to me that women stereotype men too much. This is just sexist bullshit that women always carry on about. Women seem to think men dont ask for directions or help from anyone because we think we are too macho and a man is weak if he ask for assistance. But when men generalize women in any way, we are labeled as sexist chauvinist pigs. Some women seem to be avoiding the real problem in here. Men get less attention and less support for health issues than women when it SHOULD BE EQUAL. Dont give me this bullshit that womens health is more complicated and it deserves more attention bla bla bla feminist chauvinism garbage. If this was the other way around, you would have more women complaining about it than the equal pay issue. Just because its a mans issue, women automatically assume that its not important and no one should complain or talk about it. Thats the attitudes most women show in any forum or place when male oppression is mentioned. Its funny how when ever a male issue gets mentioned, you have males and females going against it and saying its wrong in our pussy whipped western societies which is mostly controlled by female chauvinism. Many men agree with womens sexist views to win points with the pussy. Basically women want males to believe that we dont have any problems and all the things that we say that is a problem, is imaginary. We have to be a maaaaan! About 98 percent of women will criticize a male issue and go against it. It's very rare for a woman to have sympathy for male problems such as this thread. While you have many males who support feminist views and have sympathy for womens problems all around. It really proves how sexist women in general are. As feminist express women to be the loving, nurturing, caring, superior human beings. In all topics related to gender issues, womens issues always get favored while mens issues get buried in the sand. Its the year 2006 and women still think their gender is more important while males learned many generations ago that BOTH genders are equally important. Maybe males are faster learners huh?
