Ok, I saw the thread on the Firefox browser, which actually got me to download it. It's nice but I think I still like Avant better -- it's a free browser with the ability to block pop ups, active x, and pictures, if you so desire. New pages are opened within the one browser rather than having mulitple instances of a browser running. For browser afficandos who might want to check it out, the url is:

I haven't had the chance to thoroughly check out Firefox, but I'd be interested in hearing how people think they stack up to one another.

I haven't tried Avant (this is the first I've heard of it actually) but Firefox does all the things you've mentioned. Firefox is comfortable, because it looks like IE, which most people are familiar with, but has the benefits you mentioned (especially tabbed browsing...i LOVE that one!)
