cloudboy -> Michigan v. Ohio State (11/17/2006 5:01:29 PM)

Any predictions?

Must say I agree with Mitch Albom, who sees these two teams as the true #1 and #2 in country. Whoever loses, depending on the quality of the loss, should not drop out of the top 2 and should not, ipso facto, be eliminated from the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.

Michigan's defense took ND's high powered offense and shut it down. I'm curious how it will fare against the Buckeyes and Troy Smith (2,191 yards, 26 touchdowns, four interceptions).

I'll take Ohio State at home, winning 27 - 23.

Of course I have a prediction.  This is such an obvious bet.

Here ya go...I will predict the outcome of this game (and by the way...with 100% accuracy):

One side will have a slightly (or larger) score...one side will do less well.

(I have spoken).

(I'm like a freaking soothsayer or something!)

Before this, I had Ohio St by 12; now, to me, it's almost even.

GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michigan 27 Ohio State 21

LeMis -> RE: Michigan v. Ohio State (11/17/2006 8:41:12 PM)

Since I have in-laws in OH (and no ties whatsoever to MI), I will take OH, lol.

Go Buckeyes!

(but I will be out shopping while the game is on, I don't care for college sports [;)])

Lordandmaster -> RE: Michigan v. Ohio State (11/18/2006 1:09:58 AM)

These are clearly the best two teams in college football.  Whoever is No. 3 isn't close.  So why does everyone seem to be opposed to a rematch for the national championship?  The only monkey wrench would be if Rutgers wins out and presents itself as an unbeaten conference champion.  Otherwise...does anyone REALLY believe that Florida or USC or Notre Dame are better teams than the loser of tomorrow's big game?  I don't.

mistoferin -> RE: Michigan v. Ohio State (11/18/2006 2:24:53 AM)

Michigan of course!!!

FangsNfeet -> RE: Michigan v. Ohio State (11/18/2006 5:21:09 AM)

I see Ohio comming out on this one.

1. Home advantage

2. A little more experience and longer background in wins, trophies, and bowls.

As long as they don't get too cocky, Ohio will win by atleast a touch down and a field goal. 14 - 24 or 21 - 31. It's going to be one hell of a game to watch.

Florida is as good as either of these teams. USC is inconsistent, but when they are on, they look pretty good.

Ohio State 17, Michigan 13

(bonus pick) National Championship: USC 34, Ohio State 31

NawTsIut -> RE: Michigan v. Ohio State (11/18/2006 6:04:02 AM)

Go Bucks !!!  The passing of Bo, will fire up both teams..but the BUCKS will win !!   and I'll be able to drive down High Strret by Monday <lol> this town is CRAZY right now !!!     GO BUCKS !!!!!!

spankmepink11 -> RE: Michigan v. Ohio State (11/18/2006 6:15:14 AM)

Are you saying that Florida is not inconsistant?  Have you seen them play?  WOW.  Talk about not coming out fo the locker room

caitlyn -> RE: Michigan v. Ohio State (11/18/2006 6:41:17 AM)

Florida plays a tough schedule. It's hard to be 'up' every week. I don't think they will win out. USC has had injuries at the wide receiver position. Both are healthy now, and they're a tough cover.

There isn't a 'best team' in college football. There is the best team on any given day, and a list of teams (usually about five or six) that could be that team if things go their way. Some of these teams have a few losses, but are still very good teams.

I remember last year on this board, USC was the best team ever, and everyone kept telling me how they were going to beat Texas by two touchdowns. So, Texas won, and to be quite honest, when I watched Ohio State in their bowl game, they looked every bit as good as either Texas or USC, and they had two losses.

Level -> RE: Michigan v. Ohio State (11/18/2006 7:01:57 AM)

Every team I've seen this year is inconsistent, at least a bit, except for Ohio St. Florida has an outstanding defense, they love to hit and they are fasssssst, but Leak and Wynn, though very talented at the QB and RB posistions for the Gators, do slip at times.

Arkansas has one of the most brutal running games I've seen since Nebraska's heyday, but if that falters, they're in trouble.

USC can score at will, but the D-line seems to have let them down this year at times.

Notre Dame- great O, porous D.

Rutgers, Wisconsin, Boise St, Wake Forest? Nawwww. (And the fact that we're able to write Wake Forest on this discussion rates a big round of applause for the Deacons lol)

So. If Michigan (or the Buckeyes) lose today, should they possibly meet again for the title? I can see it, but I don't know if that stupid BCS computer could.

PLAYOFF.... PLAYOFF.... PLAYOFF......

cloudboy -> RE: Michigan v. Ohio State (11/18/2006 7:49:44 AM)

Its just not possible to give national championship consideration to a team with such goofy looking orange helmets.

Also, according to the "Sports Reporters," Florida's one (1) point squeaker v. cream puff South Carolina last week was quite discrediting.

ND will punch USC out of the national championship picture.
