The Star Wars Holiday Special (it was much better than Star Wars Flopisode I)

Okay, so the first full half hour was nothing but wookie grunts, and the rest was patterned after bad 70's variety shows ... It was STILL more watchable than Jar Jar!  Also, it was given a nod in the "White and Nerdy" video ;)

The Princess Bride.

VERY balanced movie.  Romantic, adventurous, funny, excellent characters, good Campbellian model, .... and highly quotable.

Mine are: Princess Bride, Rocky Horror, Army of Darkness, Shaun of the Dead, Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail (of course!)... hmm.. what defines a "cult" movie anyway?

Oh and fergus, have you seen "Dead Like Me?" Was a show on HBO for 2 or 3 seasons, featured Mandy Patinkin (Inigo Montoya) as a main character. Very funny, VERY smart show. If there was a cult tv show category, that would be my favorite!

Of course,  you meant Showtime,  not HBO.

Dead Like Me was a GREAT show.  Season One is on my xmess wishlist.  I can't wait for season two to come out on DVD.  I just wish that it'd lasted longer.  Two seasons wasn't enough.

I have caught a few episodes on the sci-fi channel.  I tend not to get to watch a lot of TV anymore - except the fucked up cartoons on late on the cartoon network ;)

It is a quirky fun show.

And there HAS to be a 'cult TV' catagory!  How else would we have things like Adult Swim and of course, Star Trek.

How did it make me feel????  well,

Upon hearing it, it felt like I should rather have my genitals cerimoniously removed by a golden sickle, placed in a ritual bowl and burned, the ashes placed in a lead lined box which would be buried six feet under, and the earth all around plowed under for an acre at least and the furrow salted so that NOTHING ever grew there again ....

.... rather than have to listen to it again.

I will not comment on Carrie Fisher's 'singing' ability.

Favorite "cult" movie?  Well...If I wanna show I'm a hip, sensitive guy (i.e. get laid):  The Princess Bride and Love, Actually.

But...If the guys are hanging out and we are being "real"?

CaddyShack, and Porky's.

There.  I said it.
