Throughout history, blood has been a very powerful symbol. It has been a major part of many ancient religions and cultural customs. As I understand it (having not done this) blood sports is a very intimate and and deeply personal act in a relationship (drawing blood, tasting blood etc).

I fully understand that blood play is not everyones cup of tea and I also understand the very serious health issues involved. The question I am asking is what peoples views are in the use of blood during play and what effect they think that blood has on the pyschology of play. For example, some people stop when they draw blood, some people aim for this. There are the acts of cutting. Also tasting. What do people think on both sides of the D/s dynamic, both Dom and sub?

We don't experience much with blood. "Knife play" for us is more about fear and trust and power than it is about drawing blood. However, at times he has drawn a significant enough amount of blood and fed it to me from the tip of his knife. It is powerful and erotic. It made me feel powerless to him. He can take my blood, and he can feed it right back into me using the very tool he used to extract it.

Cutting and feeding is a very spiritual thing for me/us. Blood is life, when he drinks from my wounds he takes my life into him, I literally become part of him.

Blood play is something that used to make me think hold on a minute thats crazy, its something i dont at this point think i would ever do, not that im squeemish i just dont think i could cut someone

but i understand how it can be a very intimate and powerful experience and i am curious but like needle play its something that i will keep as a thinker not a doer lol

Master doesn't drink/taste my blood, I think I might be grossed out if he did.....maybe..

I do like when he makes me bleed though, its very intimate

Blood play is rather hot for me, and generally the same for those who I engage in it with. Blood is a life force that has strong imagery for me, both physically and spiritually.

My blood play ranges anywhere from extreme corporal to the point of drawing blood, to cutting with scalpels, to the fun post temp piercing, to the deliberate drawing of blood via venipuncture. (Ironically, "knife play" for me has nothing to do with drawing blood, as I prefer not to cause wounds with implements not of sterile, surgical grade.)

Unless we are both serially tested sero-negative, there is no consuming of blood or other bodily fluids. However, that does not restrict the bottom from consuming their own blood, or from wearing it, or from my playing in it with a barrier.
