Well...our government says that they're safe.
So they must be because our government never makes mistakes.
They would never put our health at risk.*

*for those who don't know me...yes, I'm being sarcastic.

I see this as a personal choice thing. A consumer should certainly be informed of the possible risks but after that they can make up their own mind. This is one of those things that doesn't hurt anyone else and the risk is probably minimal.

I've heard of people implanting themselves with silicone and teflon parts to add bumps to their penis and horns to their head. Amputation has gained some ground as an acceptable modification. Body modifiers assume a certain risk. There is after all the risk of dying of infection from any such procedure, the risk is minor but it it exists nonetheless.

I can't get worked up over this as the final step is the person undergoing the treatment deciding for themselves what to do.

FWIW, I preferentially avoid partners that have undergone elective surgical modifications. I don't mind the natural course of aging in a person and see little reason to go to extreme measures to conceal unwanted weight, sagging, baldness, etc. People need to accept who and what they really are more. I'd rather people were more comfortable in their own skin rather than trying to alter that skin.

I prefer people that are perfectly themselves, not simply perfect by some commercial standard developed for mass media.

Couldn't agree more.    I also prefer a woman to be happy with her pert, 44ddd breasts, 24 inch waist, and naturally bald  pu.... I mean....  ummmm........  ummmm...  anyway, on to other topics.

Yours,
