I can honestly say I was shocked by the amount of emails I have received since joining and am sorry if most went unanswered I do not do well under that kind of pressure.

But, it got me wondering what the ration actually is.  Anyone know?

More important is the ratio of males to females.

I don't know what that is, but a ROUGH estimate puts it at ten to one.

Well, there are many more sub males than Domme females.
And I think there are more sub females than Dom men.
Don't worry, all the new people who come in here get lots of e-mails.

I'm just glad someone else other than me, types ration instead of ratio. Why does that happen!?

I guess you could work out the ratio by searching profiles and adding up the number of hits; something I might do one day if I get the luxury of boredom, just for something to do.

It's much lower than 10 - 1 if you count out the people who are goofy and crazy.  The chances for a good pairing are slim.  Sorry.

Yes Katy, very true ... but by sheer numbers, AT LEAST 10 to one!  Although, one has to count out the goofy and crazy from BOTH sexes, now we are probably back to a 10 to one again.

I suspect it is all about patience.

Any new female profile gets tons of email. Sub or Domme, you get a flood.  Itll slack off.
Funny thing is, whatever the ratio, I gaurantee that you ar not going to get mail ONLY from those looking for what you want.  If your a Domme, you stil get email from Dom males trying to get your attetnion, and sub men email sub women.  Just sift through the ones you think might actualy hold some merit, and everyone else gets a nice simple "No thanks sorry"
As with the ratio out in the vanilla world, women are outnumbered. When they see someone new, the men tends to rush to be the first on her radar.

There is certainly a big difference in the interest shown in terms of messages recieved.  I recently set up a profile for a friend - female sub, local only.  The next day she had 27 messages waiting.  As a male dom I have to work to get someone interested.  Judging by some of the comments on various profiles in does seem that many men will fire off a one liner or cut and paste to anything in a dress.  Women seem to be more choosy about the people that they will approach.

Oh!  There are also mail controls so you can set what age, sex, location, what not - others can be sent to a bulk mail file.

I don't honestly know how it works, but it should help.

Dear SQ-
 
well, the way I look at it is that for every 100 MD (male dominant) profiles, about eight are what I'd actually call a dominant.The rest are freakseekers, HNGs, and the clueless and boorish. On the flip side, for every 100 FS profiles, there are about 15 actual submissive females.

But by the same token there are probably a higher volume of male to female profiles on an adult themed site like this because that seems to be the trend in general on sexual themed single sites. So there are fakes of both sexes of both orientations.

I guess in real life there are supposedly more submissives than dominants of both genders.

I agree that there is a higher ratio of men to women on this site and general on sites of this nature....however, I think there is a higher ratio of Dominants to submissives....or so it seems to me anyhow.

well, considering that many here are appearing to be something that they're not, i'd say...

if you got 100 e-mails, and found even 1 of them to be from someone you'd be interested in meeting,  i'd be surprised if he had enough balls to in fact, follow through on doing so...

so that leaves the ratio of dominants to submissives awfully damn low, in my opinion.
