I am so fucking sick of seeing peoples profiles or getting e-mails from others where their first line is "I've been in the lifestyle for X - amount of years and have lots of experiance". Whoopedy-freakin-doo. Do you think anyone out there really cares? So great you have experiance but, that doesn't mean your not a complete asshole. Or that you have any skills. I know tons of people who can do things a million times and still fuck it up without fail. Mind you I have no problem with people who have a good deal of experiance. I think its great and can be very benafical. I would personally be more comfortable knowing someone has some clue as to whats going on; but, why does it have to be the first thing out of a lot of peoples mouth's? To me it seems as though these individuals are trying to validate themselves through age or experiance. Would it really kill people to play the "get to know you game" or give some insight into their personality, thought process, and beliefs as a way to show that they are worth what they say? Call me old fashioned but, I like to have some insight into what a person is like before I consider what they have to say as holding any weight.

Somnovi I have been in the lifestyle for X number of years and I know what you mean. :) I am sorry I figure to creat a little humor and give you something to laugh about. The truth is I never let any one know how many years I have been in the lifestyle. I rather let my action speak for it self and I never brag what my skills are. I do understand what you are saying and I think those do may not have that many of year.

People think they will have instant respect that way. It is just another ploy to get into someones pants without having to do the work. There are many way's peopel do this. I'm verified. I'm a Dom. I'm a master. Those are just off the top of my head. Sadly it does lure a lot of people in who just don't take the time to think for themselves. However, what can we do about it?

It is ironic that you would choose to mock folks for the first words out of their mouths while starting your own post with the words "I am so fucking sick of . . . ". If you read other posts in these boards you should notice that folks are able to make their points without using the word "fucking" for emphasis, and also that threads starting with complaints usually don't go as well as those that are calmly phrased to generate discussion. So while I agree with your central premise that it is silly for one introduce himself with a "resume" or make other inane presentations, I also think it makes an equally poor impression to start a post the way you did. At least my reaction after the first words out of your mouth was: "Whoopedy-freakin-doo. Do you think anyone out there really cares?"

Well, to placate Somnovi, and the others in agreement I think we should try and outline the "perfect" profile and/or first message. To include the broadest perspective lets use some of the recent message board threads, shall we? Profiles with no info It must say something. The One? Can't solicit that, because it's fantasy. people who should STAY or GO-BACK to vanilla You must qualify how you will be "Good" for the community. Nobody really lives the Bdsm lifestyle 24/7 do they Can't mention this goal, because it's impossible, and would indicate you aren't "real". a little something I don't understand Marital or commitment status should be ignored because if your here - you are obviously looking to get laid. LTR? - Don't use abbreviations! Nobody will know what you are talking about. This is A BDSM site and you shouldn't be expected to know anything when you get here - That's what the old folks are there for. The Capitalization Conundrum Proper nouns and first words of sentences should be capitalized. Using United States English ONLY. Can't spell - or write gud - don't bother. You wouldn't be a good dom/sub anyway. BDSM/Sex music suggestions? - Bring music! Must be the key to a good scene because people want to know at least every other week. Picture - No male sex organs, females are okay as long as they aren't overweight. (Based on the US Government official Height / Weight guidelines) After all, everything else the government does is perfect. Age - Shouldn't mention age, (it's discriminatory) but no one should EVER email anyone else who isn't within 5 years of the person being contacted. Really - it just won't work. The old people think they know and have done EVERYTHING that the young people are doing NOW. And the old people don't have time to appreciate anything new or any room left in their brains to store new information anyway. And of course so it's at the level Somnovi seems to appreciate it should include colorful language. So - Here's the perfect profile: "Here I funkin' am - What are you going to go about it?"

Tsk Tsk . . . I don't have my wingy picture up so neaner neaner neaner (i accidentally deleted it uploading others and need to hunt it down). Besides they taste good and you shouldn't knock it until you've tried them. As for chiqua's bragging about big boobz they're on my list of people that piss me off. However,I live in fear of them as I am sure that I could be easily smothered by them or get lost in the excess of mamary tissue unable to find my way back into the 'normal' living world.

Y'know, I can just see it - I make contact with someone here, spend a week or two emailing, meet over coffee, then take them to an event, only to have them find out that I'm recognized. Would they go volcanic because I'd hidden my past from them? <shrug> Anyone who's looking for fault will probably find it. I wonder if there's a reward or something.

I was going to reply by just copy and pasting FUCK a few hundred times but, thought you might enjoy that a little too much. Obviously you do care otherwise you wouldn't of posted. And it seems thus far this thread has gotten a posative response with people who agree with what I have to say. LOL - Some one who seems to "get it" Actually I think you should add to that list a specific outlined form that everyone should andhere to. As well as that they absolutely must use at least 3 dirty words when composing it and be as offensive as humanly possible.
