I live in the most conservative state in this Nation. At this point in my life I have been looking for a Master for nearly 2 years and it has yeilded only a few wannabes. I know this because I served my previous Master for nearly 6 years but I'll be damned if I can find one now.

Any thoughts on this matter?

It takes time and patients. When your looking for that one it may not be easy, but there is someone out there for you. Just be patient and sincere with everyone you talk to. Everything takes time.

I have found the few times I lived in extremely conservative states (Colorado Springs, etc) that there tended to be a very active underground in subversive (to them) groups, leather groups, gay groups, etc. Orange County, California, is one of the most conservative bastions in the state of California, virulently opposed to any form of sexual expression, etc. On the other hand, I know from my work in women's self-defense that some I work with consider it the capital of Child Abuse and Child Abuse Survivors in the nation.

From my Taoist perspective, there is an odd sense of Yin and Yang to all of it.

there are no short cuts to finding "the One"... having a good network of people to communicate with does help a lot....and You may consider visiting some areas that have a larger community of lifestyle folks. however, bear in mind...that in order to find the best, one must become the best. i use the time without a partner to work on myself, and it keeps me occupied in something worthwhile. good luck to you,

::laughing:: OK is not as conservative as it looks. I was actually living there when I discovered the lifestyle. And, I found many locals that lived it RL. If the links above are not enough, you can write me on the main page and tell me what part of OK you live in and I will talk to some of my friends that still live there.

In my opinion, whether you are conservative or liberal has very little to do with sexual expression. I have known many liberal thinking women who were totally neurotic and closed off when it came to sexuality. And on the other hand, I have had some very wild times with " conservative " women of Orange County. I presently know a slave in Orange County who is extremely good at expressing her sexuality in any way you could imagine. And she is conservative in many aspects of her life. So remember, assumptions and stereotypes are just that. Be careful before you use them.

I am not sure if it is so conservative that they do not have any sex shops but see if they got swinger magazines that advertize personals. Some times they will have those in the lifestyle adverize in it. Second check out the local Scfi conventions. Before california was kinky allot lifestyles would dress up and attend them without problems since they blended in the crowed. This little trick is in SM 101 by Jaywiseman toward the end of the book. Then check out on_line for any local munch groups. Also check out groups that does Medevil dress up not sure what the group is called. I know they have fairs and there could be some in the lifestyle. I would check pricellas if they sale some kink friendly books you never know. Again not sure the state but it is some ideas to think about. If you are not afraid of some one finding out get a kink necklas and if any one says any thing it is a martial Art medalon since it was that before we adopted it. I would have also remember the meaning. Or research it so you have a quick answer. I think it means truth, justice and honor but do not take my word. Good luck also you could advertise in the local papper personals as a submissive women. I wish you luck

i grew up in orange county. in the very center of it, pretty much. in my experience, individuals with an alternative sexual preference are treated poorly.

i have been openly bisexual since my senior year of high school. this created more than a few problems. my high school attempted to start a gay/straight/bisexual alliance and were activly opposed. all school clubs were temporarily suspended, law suits were filed. i remember going to the community forum and listening to opponents say that if students were allowed to form a "homosexual club" they'd all become gay, immoral, and s&m enthusiasts. yes, that was a phrase used repetatedly.

so, perhaps it's changed in the four years since i've moved. perhaps i never found the right people. perhaps my community was just particularly repressive. but as a youth of an alternative sexuality, i found orange county to be repressive and activly hostile toward such practices.

this is, needless to say, ONLY MY EXPERIENCE.

In Orange County there are munches almost daily. Even 2 dungeons if I'm correct. I know I'm going to one for a dear friends b-day next month.

Anyway, the topic was Oklahoma. I'd check out the resources. I live in California and I've been to munches in Oklahoma. I have to say...maybe they only net 10-15 people as opposed to some Orange county munches nettting 150 but you have to start somewhere.

AAAHHH, I was wondering what the state was. Then I realized it's right there in front of me (adjusts my sexy bifocals)....

Lots of Oklahoma people come to Dallas to play - it's not too far and you can make a nice weekend of it. Just a thought...

Oklahoma has a great leather/bdsm event.. Tribal Fire... they give some great how to and even a few good relationship based seminars..plus some of the best vendors go...

You can buy just about anything you want at the local sex shop in the way of toy..*try living in texas where selling to many vibes lands you in jail for traffiking*..anyhow ...

Orange County, CA., which I refer to as Behind The Orange Curtain, does have plenty of munches, sex shops, etc. I have found in talking to the people who grew up and/or live there that they say that all sexual scandals, crime, etc., are imported (usually from Anaheim; I knew there was something terribly evil about Disneyland) and nobody in Orange County would ever do anything unseemly, illegal, or immoral.

I was simply referring to the way the place is advertised by the locals.

well bent with out knowing if you are a sub or slv\
heres a sure fire bet to getting the attention of any
closet Doms in your community, wear a leather kolar
and cuffs in public and this is a sure fire way to get
any and ALL Dominants attention and Im sure They
will find a way to speak to You. It always works on
any slave I have tested this trick on when going out
in My Own little conservative community. Of course
most here allready know ME personally as being the
weirdo wacco freaka zoid with the adult businesses
per say but not My slaves untill I dress them out in
