So I decided that it's time for a revision to my profile.  I've been riding along on someone elses words for much too long now even though I do like the quote.
I'm old fashioned in that I still like to actually write on paper...which means I'm now surrounded by crumpled pieces scattered on the floor.  I've got writers block!!!!  How do you go about expressing yourself and why you're here?  Do you find it difficult to put what's in your mind into words?

i find it very difficult to put in words why i am here and what i am looking for, mostly in english.

That is probably why i don't get a lot of replies !!!

*fast reply*

I write down what I want, what I don't want, general basic stats about where I live, how old I am, what I do, experience, etc.  I tend to throw in that I am a playful sub, and if people aren't into that, they should pass me up.

It is easy for me to write it, I believe the difficulty is others making any sense out of it.

Good luck Aileen, I have always gotten the feeling that there is a pretty amazing and interesting woman behind your words.

When it comes to a profile, no.  I've done it often enough with enough practice that it's pretty basic for me.  Feel free to steal my style as a template.

I'm awaiting approval...I think I rambled too much.  I've been doing that lately.
I think I did ok though....think I captured my personality.  We'll see.

I just tried to describe myself on a basic vanilla level and follow with my favorite kinks. But yeah, it is like pulling teeth to come up with something where I don't say: "Gee . . . I sound like a real dork." Afer a few iterations, it finally got good enough where I could say: "Aha! Now I just sound like less of a dork than them other clowns."

I try to focus on who I am in terms of core personality traits and what I like and want that is important and try not to water this stuff down by including other things in the same tone or length. I also think keeping it simple and straight forward is important. Do not ask people to have to interpret who and what from words meant to be clever or overly deep. I almost would compare it to writing a resume.

Aileen, go read mine, a lot of people told me I did a good job on it.
Just be honest, tell people about yourself, what you like, what you're looking for, what things turn you on/off, what activities you enjoy, toys, spankings, what type of bondage gear you enjoy etc.
And also the type of Dom you're looking for. Strict? 24/7? Easy going?  Sub willing to become a slave etc. Relocation?
Also I notice that only about 1/3 of people mention their job or career so that may be a good idea too.
Also any restrictions like unmentionables which can be a problem or somewhat limiting as to travel or location.
Also list any hobbies or outside activities which you may enjoy.
You know, all the nitty gritty stuff.

Aileen, I like it very much.

It is so well written and conveys a very interesting and complex woman. The type of person I enjoy having as a friend.

Aileen - I always thought your picture said a thousand words, but your new profile text says so much more.

Not looking for a relationship? Good luck with that one - I reckon they'll be mounting hunting parties to come find you!

Dearest Aileen,

Hey look still haven't used any of those bad puns and song references, i think i deserve a cookie.  Baah, scratch that, i deserve some peanut butter cups and a nice warm embrace.  I'll get my own candy, but I'm still looking for that embrace, i know i left it around here somewhere.

Sorry about the tangent, i'm in a wierd headspace.  It's neither good nor bad, but wierd all the same.  Whoa, i gotta stop that, i almost went down that same old road again.

Ok, i'm gonna start over, if this doesnm't come out right i'm gonna give up and mop the kitchen, then try again later.

Dearest Aileen,

I have read your new profile and I love it.  It's clear, succinct, and with a touch of humor.  If it weren't for Ma'am and the fact that I'm a sub too, and that I'm not looking for more than a friend here either; I'd be trying to get in on that hunting party that LadyEllenm mentioned.

I think we'd make quite wonderful friends, except for the karaoke thing; i'm not proud of it but i enjoy it all the same.  You are just twisted enough for me not to get bored with.

                                           Sincerely,

                                                      oren

post script: I know that this would have been better served in a private mail, but I've already sealed the envelope (my mom's favorite joke), and typed it out here so i'm gonna juse bite the bullet and hit [OK].

Okay - i admit it, i don't often read the profiles of those on here unless they say something that strikes my curiousity about them. You did - hooray - you get the curiousity award. New Jersey - eh - my home town, so i can certainly "get" your mindset. And, you have one of my very fav quotes in your journal. i think you're doing just fabulous darling. You are clear and precise but in a very creative and intelligent way. You entertain while you inform. i think that's awesome.
