AmakeYumi -> Etiquette (11/20/2006 1:32:44 PM)

I was just about to message a dom for the first time and realized I have no idea what would be appropriate to say. My first dom contacted me, so i've never had to worry about it.

So what is the etiquette when a sub is messaging a dom?

mnottertail -> RE: Etiquette (11/20/2006 1:35:12 PM)

Normal nice folk etiquitte is just fine.

Ditto.

Same manners you've always used.  Unless your manners suck, and then pretend you have nice normal manners.

Sometimes hello works very nicely [:)]

Hercuckslave -> RE: Etiquette (11/20/2006 1:43:33 PM)

Dom/mes are people too.  I don't believe that a sub has to approach a Dom/me in a submissive manner.  There has been no agreed upon power exchange and both parties are on equal footing.  So just be polite, be yourself, be respectful.  Same as you would in meeting anybody new.

What others have stated, and to add that nice sentiments or thoughts about his profile are usually well received, and do make a nice segway into other areas of thought and or questions.  Just be yourself, as you were here when posting this thread.  ~smile

What they said and a good luck to go with it.

'Proper' etiquette would be honesty. Ideally the same as when a dom is messaging a sub.

That doesn't always work.

Beside manners, i think it's important to know what it is you want to know about Him. i don't see this format as all that different from vanilla when it comes to getting acquainted. We're all still people getting acquainted. Personally, the more real someone is, the more honest, the more i tend to like them.

AmakeYumi -> RE: Etiquette (11/20/2006 7:43:53 PM)

Thanks so much for the responses. I just wanted to make sure I went about these things correctly.

As it turned out i accidently left te message I wanted to send as a personal note. I flagged him as a favorite, but I cant find him again.

mnottertail -> RE: Etiquette (11/21/2006 6:26:56 AM)

If you have more than 20 favorites (oh, you nasty bitch!!!!! LOL) you can't get to them, there is no scrolling for that.  You have to weed out the less interesting.

Since you have no idea how to break the ice with someone, I think maybe I can help. Im sure you'll find just the right Dom if you write to a total stranger and say, "Yo. Willling to be your sex slave and total slut. No limits here baby!"  I find a high quality pitch such as that, will get you good results.

mnottertail -> RE: Etiquette (11/21/2006 6:55:39 AM)

Sex slaves and total sluts are required to have profiles and pictures sophia37, I think it is TOS.

LOL

But would you respond to a non-pic attempt at contact?  Either Dom or sub....

Depends on their message.  I am, however, more likely to respond to a message with a pic, than to the identical message without a pic.
