Yeah, that is exactly where I found this piece. In fact, the other topic titled 50's is originally a mock up advertisement that someone added text to at a later time. There may be some basis for the idealised household that was added to the picture, BUT as yet no one can find a text book that has that sort of guidance. These things are composites to point out how "improved" society has become. Nillas might view the 50's household in horror and feel grateful for their new lives. And "we" might view that 50's stuff as "the way things ought to be". In fact, no matter what time, era, decade, century we live in, people have always been people. That idealised chit is not something that can easily be sustained. Eventually emotion will show, and keeping that stifled so your mate will not have any added burden on his hard day is unrealistic. I put this 1890's mockery up because I wanted to point out that people need to find their own comfort. And not to look back with fondness and envy for a world that never was. My parents lived the 50's and though it MAY have looked traditional according to the images we saw on television, they were human. His day affected hers. Hers affected his. And believe me, it was not perfection. Kyst quote:
ORIGINAL: mistoferin That is some funny sh*t...lol. We have had it posted here before though and it was pointed out that it isn't real. http://www.snopes.com/weddings/newlywed/advice.asp
