Just going back to the Original Post, couple of things that concern me. First this idea of "quardians"....who are they? where are they? why are they so "secret". I've been a member of alt.com, and have issues with it yes, I've also been a member of this site, and many others. I've been aroudn this scene for some years, and have never heard of the international core. Sites like Collarme, and the few other sites run by those in the scene rather than commercial organisations tend to have a community of regulars who look after the newbies and each others interests. Do we need the "international core" and anonymous guardians to protect us ? I wonder. As for the rant about Alt.com. I totally agree with everything said, but from a different perspective. When you join ANY site, you are in joining accepting the way it runs. IF you visit Alt.com , as a guest, it lets you do very little without joining and paying, but it does let you do enough to see what you're getting. When you join, you can cancel at any time if you don't like the site. But to argue about how the site operates because you don't like it is I think a little naieve. Any commercial site is likely to ban a member who actively criticises it or hijacks users to other sites. This is not an issue about the lifestyle or bdsm, but a commercial issue. They exist to make money. they do that by getting and keeping members. They are succesfful, because many members do make contacts via their sites, including Alt. (I have in the past made some great contacts via alt). but they are a commercial company that wants to make as much money as it can...So if you join a site like alt, you expect that. Collarme is a completely different type of site. It is non commercial, and run by and for people in the scene. ITs "commercial" goal I expect is to meet costs, so it hosts adverts. But it also allows its memebrs to talk about others sites... as it should. You'll find similar comparisms in otehr areas of the adult online world, and also in the non adult world to. its business v community.... you pays the money and makes yoru choice. so to the OP... I welcome you here, as a memebr of Collarme. I welcome your posts on the message boards, and your input to any discussions. But please do not preach to us. Share your views and opinions by all means, but respect this site and its members for what they are....and if there are any International Core "guardians" out there.. HI....why not say hi to us to!
