That looks like a series from the Word Chain game, except "leap" doesn't follow from "umbrella."

Edited to add: Heh, I see that you just changed "leap" to "lap."  OK, so it's a series from the Word Chain game.

And what does that have to do with Husky, Metropolitan, Busch, and Soldier?

In my effort, while way too tired, to chain words together, I completely forgot to mention that your four are all stadiums.

apse
serum
umbrella
leap

apse is a certain cove (or redoubt) in a church
serum is a name for blood
umbrella is a spheircal hood for shedding or protection from elementals
leap is what you do with faith.

after that I am heathen so I don't know.

Yes, they're all stadiums, but there's more to it than that.

And apse even follows lap, making the chain a loop.

If only I'd looked more carefully before leaping!

I've decided that it must be my server, not my typing skills.  I type faster than fucking Comcast connects me.

Well, I just realized that I fucked up.  What I had in mind is that they're all stadiums that USED TO house NFL football teams, but the name Soldier Field has been retained (even though it's a new stadium built over the remains of the old one, which was largely demolished).  So I'll say I blew it and everyone who said "they're stadiums" was right.

I'm impressed that the new stadium doesn't have some corporate name!

You solved the Egypt one, so it's your turn to post a new one.

Off to bed for moi. As always, nice playing with you!

I was tempted to hazard a guess that they were all designed by a venomous-snake expert from Ipswich who discovered aspiring boxers in his spare time!

Just realized I forgot Quentin Crisp on that list. They're gonna take my gay card away for sure this time!
