My childhood memories of Saturday afternoons include helping my mother bake pies while listening to the Texaco sponsored Metropolitan Opera broadcasts on public radio.  i would peel, core, and slice the filling.  Sometimes she would let me roll out the dough for the crust.  My brothers and i would sometimes make doughlies from the leftover dough, butter, cinnamon, and sugar.  We had two malus hopa in our back yard, but they did not produce (by definition) for our pies.  The current quartet never appeared in our pies either, since they are all cultivars developed since i left home to go to college in the 1960's.

They will, however, soon be producing for mine.

Soon as they're planted, that is.

Your turn, fluffy.

Yes, science.

Joseph Priestley wrote a book on the history of electricity using input from John Canton, William Watson, and Benjamin Franklin.  These three along with Richard Price nominated Priestley to the Royal Society in London - he was accepted in 1766.

In addition, Priestley is usually credited with the discovery of oxygen.

Your turn DC.
