Animals are divided into Phyla - such as Chordata (vertebrates), Arthropoda (Insects, spiders etc), Mollusca (snails etc) and so on, which are then each further divided into Classes.
 
The Classes you are probably familar with - mammal, birds, reptiles, amphibians - are just one group of all animal life, which by population and number of species is overwhelmingly smaller than the other Phyla.
 
The insect class is Hexapoda (for 6 legs) which further breaks down into Order, Family, Genus and Species, and includes butterflies, moths, the cute ladybugs and yes those pesky ants.

I love Mollusca, you get those amazing Golden Mean originating designs and they are quite mind blowing.

One of my degrees is Human Biol, for which a good grounding in overall Biology helped.
 
The above is pretty basic and easy to remember after you do some reading.
 
A good way to remember classification breakdown is a mnenomic:
 
Kings Play Chess On Fine Glass Stools  =  KPCOFGS  =  Kingdom into Phyla into Class into Order into Family into Genus and Species.

Does it have to do with measuring the effect of cold and compression on Lymph flow at the ankle, Poise?

I'm rolling with railroad because of the "hidden" clues.

What's the name of that kid's TV show?  Oh, nuts..... it's Thomas the Tank Engine.  Was hoping for "Billiy" = William.

Let's see, William Murdock built first prototype steam engine.
Compression of steam makes the engine trace out a path. (Not really, but it follows the trace of the rails.)
